I hate to date myself, but I remember when (in college) Susan Dey of "LA Law" fame came to campus (University of California at Riverside) and literally SOBBED that the end of the world would come if Ronald Reagan became re-elected!
That was the era of my awakening after having been brainwashed/terrorized/victimized by the left-wing teachers that I had from grade school through college (mantra: "There is *NO* difference between the USSR and the USA...)
Yep it was the end of mine too! Especially when I exposed it in class. And you're right, there is no difference between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. Both are a socialistic society. Only difference is we have rights to keep and bear arms. Russian citizens do not.
