WASHINGTON
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
Spending more on the war effort is one thing,
Increasing spending across the board is quite another.
The gop controlled house, where all spending begins, is setting new records for pork, and has been since before the last election.
The point being made here is "same old shi%, new day"
gw & the gop, are owned by the same "campaign donors" as the dems have been for 60 years.
He probably thought so too, actually, until he started reading threads on Free Republic and realized he'd be CHEERED ... literally CHEERED ... for each and every Clintonesque move he's made.
"Let's roll! It's our turn now!!"
BUMP
ROFLMAO.
The Persian Gulf War, as I recall! Where were you? Granted the current "War on Terrorism" is a bogus concept! It is actually an undeclared war, and I don't like that new precedent! That was the biggest reason that I didn't volunteer myself!!
The whole concept of the attack of 9/11 is unprecedented!! I think few people in government stopped to consider the long-range consequences of their actions! The emotions were running high, and the Patriots and Political Opportunists alike just jumped in head first.
Uncle Bill still posts, though. Cheers!

hhhmmm. I like that idea.
What happened to the system in the first place
(excuse my ignorance on this matter).
It takes many $thousands to pursue
a Supreme court challenge today.
And the politicians will be defended
by the $100's of millions available to the state.
Justice cannot prevail in this scenario.
Please tell me more about the Grand Jury
(by private e-mail if you like).
Is this an area in which you have experience, expertise?

No expertise, semper_libertas.
I've just started my study of the Grand Jury system.
Here's a link to one site.
http://www.sandiego.courts.ca.gov/superior/public/grandjury.html#QUALIFICATIONS
Under the heading "Duties,"
Notice the last sentence of the second paragraph--
"The grand jury may inquire
into written complaints
brought to it by the public."
Most Grand Jurys are intiminated by the prosecutors.
Some are courageous enough to fulfull their duty,
and ignore the advice of the government officers.
That's where the term "runaway Grand Jury" comes from.
It describes a Jury that does not follow the advice of the prosecutor,
but instead investigates into areas that it considers relevant.
With a restored Grand Jury system,
free of government control,
the people could bring the government to trial,
at government expense, not personal expense.
Since When? What planet did you beam down from? The Congress has Always been at odds with the President- even when Clinton was elected in 1992, and the Dimocrats had the White House, and the Legistative Branch! Shortly after Clinton took office, then speaker Tom Foley took him "to the woodshed" over some of the initives in Clinton's "First 100 Days Agenda." A press conference was held right after that meeting, and Clinton's expression was that of a little whipped pup!
So, tell me- when exactly was this that Congress was "falling all over itself" to give power to the Executive Branch?
Upon the inauguration of Dubya, Free Republic stopped being an oasis of truth in the quagmire of chaos that is the Internet.
This post, and the dozens like it daily, proves you to be an idiot.
I remember Executive Bush declaring war.
That is a legislative power.
I remember Bush, Clinton, and others
writing "Executive Orders,"
that have the full force of law.
Making law is a legislative power.
It seems to me that before the 2000 election it was said on FreeRepublic that Bush wasn't the best choice but he was better than Algore. It was also said that when we got Bush elected we would hold his feet to the fire to get the changes we wanted. Absolutly nothing of importance has been changed during the last year and you Bushies continue to defend him in the same manner that the democrat party protected Bill Clinton. Lies, excuses, distortions, ommisions and additions whenever necessary.
After one year in office the excuse is that is has only been one year and Bush has three more years to go. After two years in office it will be said that it has only been two years and that he has two more years to go. After three years in office it may be said that Bush can't get anything done because of the new democrat house of representatives and the democrat senate. After four years it will be said that Bush can't do anything now because Hillary Clinton is the president.
Har har har, you fools.

My.
That's pretty impressive for an idiot.
massadvj is completely right.
The increases in spending have been greatly exaggerated! The Education Bill combined with increased Defense spending makes it look big! We're talking about and increase of 4% on Education, and it is badly needed. The problem is that it only BEGINS to address the many problems of our Education System! Many people expect "W" to wave a magic wand, and fixed everything. The reality is that thanks to the turncoat Jeffords- the Republicans no longer control the Senate! That is an obstical to overcome! We should elect a Republican majority to BOTH houses, and then expect action!
What are you calling Pork Barrel? What choice do we as a nation have but to stop the Terrorists? Should we wait for the Terrorists to detonate a Tactical Nuke in New York, or Los Angeles? What is your solution?
I take issue with your assertion that the Republicans have the same masters as the Dimocrats. Do the Republicans pander to the Unions? Gay and Lesbian Activists? Racial Groups and Leaders? I thought Republicans were long accused of being the "Party of Business." Any ideas?
