Freeper discovers amazing connection. Lieberman's largest contributor is Enrons largest creditor

Ailing Enron Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

Enron is likely to try to isolate its trading operations as a new business, with additional investments from its leading banks, J.P. Morgan Chase and Citigroup. <Enron reported in its court filing yesterday that Citigroup's Citibank unit is its largest unsecured creditor, with two loans totaling $3 billion.

"I know of a former Arthur Anderson accountant that went from zero (and he was a real zero) to $10 million, in net value, back in the late '80's and early '90's. He did it by opening a natural gas transportation and management firm. His biggest supplier was Enron."

You might want to post that with some Google search mat'l as a separate thread. Sounds interesting. Let us flesh it out a bit. We need names and approx. dates.

My, my, my. What a little research and good detective work will find. Wonder why the media (who are getting PAID to find these things) didn't notice that?

Oh, wait.....media....Lieberman.....democrats....never mind.

The issue is should Joe Lieberman be in charge of the senate investigation because he received contributions from Enron's largest creditor ? Ashcroft apparently felt he should recuse himself over investigating Enron in light of his contributions.

After filing banckruptcy the creditors are essentially in control, not management. If Ashcroft excuses himself because of his relationship with those who used to be in control then I think its even more important for Lieberman to recuse himself because he has a relationship with those who are presently in control.

I do not see any wrongdoing on Bush's part other than to receive a campaign contribution.

That's exactly the point there is no wrongdoing on Bush's part, yet a number of media organizations have been carry water for the Democrats by saying such things as the following clipped from the Washington Times:

"Enron's dealings [are] fast becoming the biggest potential embarrassment the Bush administration has faced," a story in the Boston Globe read.

"These revelations helped fan what was already a major embarrassment for the Bush administration into a political firestorm," the Houston Chronicle reported.

MSNBC's anchorman Brian Williams, in his newscast, referred to Enron as "a major preoccupation, if not a danger, for the Bush White House."

Then, there was Bill Press, the liberal co-host of CNN's "Crossfire," who called the Enron case worse than Whitewater. "Enron makes Whitewater look like peanuts," he wrote in his syndicated column. "

Well, the point is, if taking a campaign contribution make one guilty then everyone that took one is guilty.

I was replying to this post by TLBSHOW. Somehow my reply was directed to you, I don't know why, except that this thread has one thread inside another.

The really wacked thing about his comments is that a search revealed that nobody else used the phrase "My Democrat friends" except for him.

Can you "Google search" former and present Arthur Anderson accountants and the types of other businesses they are involved in? I'd bet there's probably more than one.

I saw the amount of debt of $3 billion after last night's revelations that LIEberman had received a lot of money from Citigroup and said WOW! LIEberman needs to recuse himself now and we need to lead the fight to get him to do it.

Exactly!! This is going to so much fun to watch.

This is just like a bucket of sh!t. The more you stir it, the more it stinks

The Rat fishing expedition continues to produce a stanky catch.

Unfortunately our wonderful non-biased media refuses to inform America of the tight relationship which, because of Enron, resulted with Lippo, Chinese Liberation, Huang... "Deals" were made to build new plants in other countries, in otherwords you want the $50 million, build the damn thing. And the money flowed.

Joe, tell us how disgraceful Bush has handled his situation, how much more did he receive than you? Per campaign budget, how do the percentages compare?

You'd need very specific info.

What I'd suggest is the names of the Company and approximate date started, and the guys name that started it. From that we can take it to Sec. State sites, Edgar, various business sites, etc. Maybe a Lexis-Nexis access poster will dig a bit too.

Holy Joe won't recuse himself. Only honest men like John Ascroft understand that ethics are not something decided by committee. But I find the connection amusing, and I have always been astounded at how poorly Citigroup and its predecessors have been managed. They're a bunch of half-wits in grey flannel suits.

BTW: my bet is that our president will yet again amaze his countrymen and the world by leading the charge to bring the miscreants in this case to justice. Onward!

Clearly, Lieberman is no Ashcroft. I know about the relationship you are building, but it will come out--they already know about it, I am certain. To me, it is better not to add to the bruhaha, and let the admin handle it.

I am well aware of the media spin. Indeed, they appear to be salivating. I happen to have complete faith in the Bush Administration, and this is going to end up being absolutely a pebble in the pond as far as the contributions.

The worst thing that is going to erupt from all of this is that we are going to have to listen to McCain beat his gums, again, about CFR.
