I think its hilarious watching people from both beltway parties looking back over their shoulder, while running as fast as they can away from Enron.

...and that is why, no matter what, this investigation is going nowhere.

Toppling Ted Turner et al and installing a pro-Western media outside of the Beltway would be good for Americans, enhance U.S. security, and make for a devastating blow against the Big Lie cartel. When will the greedy fat cat CEOs of the Big Lie Cartel be brought before a congressional hearing to swear that they believe their carney folk are not America bashing?

The only reason Donaldson thinks an energy scandal will be more interesting than a sex scandal to the American public is because he knows the lib media is going to crank up the mother of all propaganda machines to blanket America with.

I have only one thing to say to Sammy...Iran-Contra.

Having been a derivatives trader for decades, I'll still have to vote for LTCM in terms of complexity. Multi-currency, multi-duration swaps are just a tiny bit (pardon the irony) more complex than 12-month NG strips, broadband options, and metal leasing.

Being on or off the balance sheet is an accounting and/or tax matter. Off-sheet items make the comprehension of a firm's financial picture more difficult, but don't add anything at all to complexity, per se.

Now, if you want a vote for crookedest management, I'd cheerfully vote for Enron. LTCM may take the prize for arrogance, but they were quite scrupulous.

"Nobody could understand Whitewater," the newsman explained. And while Americans could understand the Clinton-Lewinsky White House sexcapades, nobody cared, Donaldson insisted.

Uh huh...is that why her tell-all book soared to the top of the NYT bestseller lists, and her interview with Babwa Wawa was the then-most non-Super Bowl watched television program of all time?

As bad as it gets, I'll bet there are no body counts associated with it.

Actually, there is. Ron Brown was murdered to keep him from revealing all the illegal campaign finance activities that he, Clinton and the DNC had been engaged in ... one of which was his "probably" illegal dealings with ENRON.

I stand corrected!

A good many MBAs can't explain what was wrong about Enron's use of off the balance sheet partnerships to hide its true debt burden.

Count me in that list. The WSJ has had interviews with Wall Street Analysts who said they couldn't begin to decipher the Notes to the Consolidated Financial Statements. No way do the sheeple understand this. Even if they could, what the hell does it have to do with Bush???

The Bush-haters in the media are burning the midnight oil trying to ratchet up the "Enron Story" into a full-fledged Gary Condit/Clinton-style scandal.

It just goes to prove once again what a bunch of partisan CLYMERS the ABC maggots are--an ENTIRE show devoted to Enron, 4 months after the 9/11 attacks and in the middle of a full-scale war on terrorism. Wow, this "scandal" really trumps the war on terrorism, violence in the middle east etc.!!!

NBC/ABC/CNN really do think they can strong-arm public opinion the Enron bankruptcy into an anti-Bush frenzy--by God, if we don't believe there's a scandal here, they'll make us believe it!!!!

Well, I can't say I'm surprised.......

This bit of blather from Sam is as predictable as the sunrise but as many have pointed out, the investigations will go nowhere due to the Clinton/Democrat connections.

The undeniable facts are that neither President Bush or his family profited from Enron or did anything to save them or protect them from bankruptcy; the opposite, the Bush administration ignored the Enron executives calls for help and let them sink.

Most of America doesn't care a whole lot about some big business going under except to see the CEO and executives that cashed in for millions while the employees got screwed by losing their jobs and their (401k) investment in the company go to jail.

As Rush Limbaugh said (1/11); what the Democrats and the liberal media can't deal with is that Bush and Cheney are honest men. They are what they appear to be. Drives liberals (who are always called 'moderates' by the media) crazy.

Clinton was impeached.

"I think this scandal is going to dwarf the the two of them," Donaldson told WABC Radio morning hosts Curtis & Kuby.

Translation: As long as they believe that they can trash Bush with this, the media is going to cover this all out. Unlike Whitewater where they played cover up and minimized it down to nothing.

So, you want to compare Bush/Enron with Clinton/Madison Guaranty and the Whitewater scandal? Fine! Let’s go for it. For starters:

Can you show me any evidence, anecdotal or otherwise, that George W. Bush or anyone working for George W. Bush did anything to help Enron hide its financial misdeeds?

Can you name one Bush family member who received money from Enron for professional services – as an attorney, for instance?

Can you show any loans to George W. Bush or any of his family members from Enron or from any of Enron’s principals?

Can you show that George W. Bush invested in Enron and that that investment was subsequently protected by Enron officials when the financial picture started to fall apart.

Can you provide me with any evidence that any administration official, from Bush’s years as Governor of Texas or since he became president, has taken any action whatsoever to prevent, stall or impede an investigation by any government regulatory agency, either state or federal, into the financial affairs of Enron?

Can you provide any evidence, anecdotal or otherwise, of any sexual relations between George W. Bush and any officer or the wife of any officer of Enron?

Can you produce evidence that either Enron or any Enron official ever made payments on any promissory obligation of George W. Bush or any member of his family?

Can you introduce any evidence that George W. Bush, or any member of his immediate family, ever participated in the preparation of any legal documents drawn for the sole purpose of defrauding the federal government?

Can you show that either George W. Bush or any member of his administration or his immediate family has lied, whether under oath or not, about any aspect of his relationship with Enron or any Enron officials?

Can you provide me the name of any Enron official who is presently serving time in jail for contempt of court for his or her refusal to answer questions under oath about the role of George W. Bush or any member of his family or administration in dealings with Enron?

Can you show me that any pertinent documents relating to Enron, which documents were once in the possession of George W. Bush, any member of his immediately family or any administration official has been destroyed, lost, shredded or otherwise disposed of?

Explain just why there is so much criticism of George W. Bush over the Enron debacle while Enron is being represented in Washington by Bill Clinton’s former attorney.

NBC/ABC/CNN really do think they can strong-arm public opinion the Enron bankruptcy into an anti-Bush frenzy--by God, if we don't believe there's a scandal here, they'll make us believe it!!!!

Perceptions are everything.

With control of the media, the left will make it seem like the Republicans are corrupt and the democRATS pure as driven snow, just like they successfully characterized Bush as stupid and Gore as a genius during the election (even though Bush got better grades, never flunked out of any courses etc. etc. etc.). That is why it is IMPERATIVE that Bush and the DOJ investigate ALL the crimes committed by the DNC and Clinton crowd the last 9 years ... starting with the deaths of Ron Brown and Vince Foster. If they don't, they may loose this battle of perceptions AND THE NEXT ELECTION. Show that the media has been covering for Clinton for nearly a decade and you will destroy their ability to damage the GOP.

Look at what happened in pardongate? When that matter came to the publics attention, thanks in large part to Fox News, the democRATS and the media were on the defensive BIG TIME. What a shame that Ashcroft let them skate on that one.

My concern is that the Bush DOJ is also letting them skate on all the other crimes ... and prosecuting those crimes in court is the only real weapon the GOP has against the democRATS control of the media, schools, Hollywood, etc. Every other topic except the crimes (like MURDER, TREASON and ELECTION TAMPERING) can be spun by the media to make Republicans look bad or make it look like democRATS are JUST AS MUCH responsible for anything good (like the outcome of this war on terrorism). Ignore the crimes and you embolden the democRATS so they will be even more capable of stealing the next election and using criminal means to eventually make this a one party government.

According to Rush, Hillary also received around $900 from Enron.

Just goes to show what they thought of Hildabeast--didn't even merit a $1,000 contribution! Sheesh! This was purely for show, though...ah, just opening the door for future political favor.
