This just doubled my monthly contribution to my local crisis pregnancy center. These people are disgusting.

Good point. And the Planned Parenthood clinics charged the woman for an abortion. Now I can see where they think the competition is undercutting them and they can't stand it. Not to mention what that would do to their cash flow. So they bring in their goon Spitzer to break a few kneecaps to ensure they remain in the black. Wow. They make "The Godfather" look like a legitimate operation by comparison. Which may be a valid point. The Don wasn't in the gruesome business of killing kids before their time... ;-)

The pro-choice movement claims its competitors are guilty of deceptive practices and endangering women's right to control their own bodies

You are absolutely right. The pro-abortion movement -- it is a misnomer to call them "pro-choice" because they really DON'T give women a choice because they don't give them all the information they need to make an informed decision -- are deceptive liars.

Crisis pregnancy centers are the compassionate alternative to abortion, but they sometimes don't prevent women from obtaining an abortion. If a woman REALLY wants an abortion after going to a CPC, they can go right down to Planned Parenthood and get one. What does the NYAG think CPC's do? Lock pregnant women in a cell throughout pregnancy to stop them from killing their babies?

Obviously, CPC's are successful otherwise the pro-death bunch wouldn't be going after them.

God bless CPC's, their employees and volunteers, all the women who are seeking an alternative to abortion, and especially the unborn babies.

They are losing support daily among the American people -- that is why they are forcing the issue in friendly courts with friendly political hacks.

Have you ever heard of any other business that kills 1/3 of its market share?

Thanks for having me on the list. NO ONE should ever have access to these women's names, unless PP plans to give over a list of women who have had abortions.

How about the teachers' unions who fully support PP's agenda? Talk about stupid! And they wonder why so many Americans think our kids get a lousy education. The teachers don't even know that they are ruining their job prospects with their political agenda!

Unlike PP who won't even LET the pregnant girl LOOK at the monitor!!!!!!!!!

They know what they're doing.

The turn-around rate for abortion-minded women at CPC's through counseling alone is pretty low. The turn-around rate for abortion-minded women at CPC's who see their babies on the ultrasound monitor is very high.

I have inside information, but I don't want to give the exact figures in case any abortionists are lurking.

Maybe the real reason they've decided to pursue the latter option is that women have decided to follow their pocketbooks to the place that really offers a caring atmosphere and good care?

Yes. The abortion rate is dropping, and CPC's that offer ultrasound are a contributing factor. PP knows this and has probably been planning this litigation for some time. Unfortunately for them, they have no case.

In 1999, the latest year for which statistics are available, there were more abortions than live births in the Bronx: 23,060 to 22,417.

NYC is 'ground zero' in the war against unborn children. The live birth/killed baby ratio increases in proportion to distance from the city. It's our little concentration camp.

But, but, but... abortion rarely happens unless it is a rape or endangers the life of the mother!

"'This is a politically motivated witch hunt in an election year for Eliot Spitzer,' Slattery said."

Oh yea...
Take one guess what NYers as a whole intend on doing about this guy?
Re-elect him by a landslide margin.

...sickening but true; and, oh-so New York, eh Hillary?

More to the point: why exactly is the pro-choice movement and its friend Eliot Spizter afraid of free market competition?

Because they aren't "pro-choice". That's a lie; a rhetorical dodge meant to make shredding innocent kids acceptable to mainstream America.

They're about as "pro-choice" on abortion as Ford Motor Company is "pro-choice" about your choice of automobile. Mothers who choose to let their babies live are, to them, potential profits lost. The so-called "pro-choice" people aren't "pro" that choice, at all. The only "choice" they favor is abortion.

Y'know...I can understand how people might think that they are doing women a favor by keeping abortion legal. They're wrong, but I can understand why they might think that.

I cannot, however, grasp the idea that seems to be prevalent in New York that persuading a woman not to kill her child is somehow bad. That boggles my mind.

It seems to me that they're blowing their cover, and revealing themselves as the blood-thirsty infanticidal kooks we've always known exist just under the surface.

But, I guess things are different in New York.

"Y'know...I can understand how people might think that they are doing women a favor by keeping abortion legal. They're wrong, but I can understand why they might think that."

I too.

"I cannot, however, grasp the idea that seems to be prevalent in New York that persuading a woman not to kill her child is somehow bad. That boggles my mind."

And that specific aspect was the only reason I resonded to this post.
You nailed it.
Abortion is for now legal; so, I'm of the belief we pro-lifers -- in order we remain within the law while true to our beliefs -- must change the heart of those who'd seek this procedure & insodoing murder their unborn child.
But Mr. What'shis name here seems to want to remove my only legal tack for dealing with this infanticide horror.
Now lemme tell ya; I got a problem with that.

"It seems to me that they're blowing their cover, and revealing themselves as the blood-thirsty infanticidal kooks we've always known exist just under the surface."

To you & I they're doing precisely that; but then, we're the chorus, eh?
Watch how our demonic, twisted, convoluted Lamestream media frames this thing.
By the time they're finished screwing around & redefining everything there is to know about this matter?
Their candidate, Mr. What'shisname will be re-elected by landslide proportions.
That is why I asked Hillary if she agreed with my assessment of the terrain?

"But, I guess things are different in New York."

Oh boy; ya said a mouthfull there, my friend.

..."...but over there in Barrytown they do things very strange" la-la~ {g}
(pssst; the sage writings of steely dan)
