SACRAMENTO -- Gov. Gray Davis is calling for expanded authority to wiretap Californians' phones and e-mail in the name of protecting against
terrorism enemies of the Democrat Party.
As outlined Monday by his top security advisor, former FBI agent George Vinson, the legislation Davis seeks is similar to the Patriot Act signed into law by President Bush in October. The governor's aides said New York has adopted a similar statute "If you think that the Clintons are good at abusing the law, you ain't seen nuthin' yet! Welcome to the People's Republic of California!!". Proposals are pending in Arizona and Washington state....
