ZoneAlarm blocked what was most likely a port scan by a remote computer trying to find out if you are running a remote administration tool. The scan attempted to communicate with port 1680 on your computer, which is typically used by Carbon Copy (a common remote administration tool). Though, ZoneAlarm has determined that you are not currently running Carbon Copy on your machine.
Must be those anti-wiretapping libertarians. They always like to brag about what accomplished computer hackers they are.
Bunch of BS artists is what they are.
Everytime I get down with them, this thing lights up like a pinball machine. Not the usual internet clutter, but echo requests and this sort of thing.
What a bunch of hypocrits; they'll cry about wiretapping, then turn around and try to hack your PC. Too funny.

...as a matter of fact, this smacks of a similar argument this afternoon, regarding a couple of libertarians.............is that it?....NO!
Get a grip on yourself, for crying out loud. I can't be a libertarian, I'm a Christian.
But since you brought up the libertarian thing, do you remember the way they were hammered here, over raising concerns about this stupid and unnecessary and disgracefully-named Patriot Act? And now, (surprise, surprise) the opportunists are already moving in, to abuse it for their own purposes. The President should have damn well foreseen the likelihood of that happening.
I'll make the prediction that he was either too hurried or too thoughtless to make; that this 'Patriot' Act, will be abused in ways we cannot yet dream of. And it will be principally used not against terrorists but against ordinary Americans; perhaps especially, patriots.

I've managed to alienate just about everybody, since 9/11. :)

Yet for some reason, you felt compelled to post some Supertramp song implying that I was a mindless idiot who isn't aware of such potential abuses.

Actually the so called patriot act, is a handle that was given to it by the media and detractors of the bill. Look it up.

...I dreamt of it back on post 13, remember?...Yeah, except I don't see it as a Democrats-only thing. Authoritarianism runs right across the spectrum, these days. And it's President Bush who's responsible for opening this particular Pandora's box, not Davis.

Thank you.

I was only trying to correct the record.Somehow the patriot thing got stuck on it in the house. By the time it got to the Senate the bills name was changed to: The USA Act of 2001.(HR2975) Many thought the name, Patiot Act, was too self serving and not very professional. However, the media liked it and so it lives on.

Do you think they'll be making a movie soon, Escape from California?

The converse of your statement, according to some, is also true.

I appreciate you correcting me.
I honestly thought the horrible thing was called the "Patriot Act", which to me was really nauseating. It's a minor relief to find it has a generic name.

Pretty amazing turnabout...especially considering the left-wingers screamed and disbanded all LAPD (and other police agency) intelligence ops in the 1970's.
