Clearly those who falsify data to influence public policy are guilty not only of fraudulently obtaining grant money for their personal enrichment but also they are attempting to have government regulation enforce their policies for their own meglomaniacal satisfaction. Once shown to be frauds no one should ever again take them seriously. One who has used government money to prepetrate such a fraud should never again be allowed any government grant for research. The only funding from the government they should recieve is room and board as a prisoner in a penetentiary.

On a related note, refer to SWL's first of many good links, "Findings" vs. "Facts" In Washington (re: Global Climate Change Act of 2001/2), and you might argue the same about Senators who base legislation on faulty data...

They should be impeached - the penalty is never being allowed to work for the Feds (aka us, the taxpayers), and never getting a pension from us. Like x42, I don't see why I should tolerate such people on my payroll.
