Not hardly! If President Bush DID NOT EVER INVITE Arafat TO THE WHITE HOUSE; what on earth would lead you to believe our President would try to cuddle up to Daschle?? Actually, several times in the last few weeks, I have read stories about Daschle leaving the White House by the back door because Daschle was madder than hell. That doesn't sound to me like the President is doing Daschle any favors.
I think you are correct in that, however, President Bush wields an iron fist in a velvet glove. No one knows that better than his opponents in Texas. He has been woefully underestimated many times. His good old boy, just a little fuzzy, one brick shy a load persona has sucked many a foe in.
Just ask Ann Richards. She actually thought Dubya was cozying up to her, until she looked down and figuratively saw her legs cut off. Now, she never misses an opportunity to tell anyone in the Texas democrat party that will listen, just how ruthless Dubya can be.
I think Dubya has learned much more about cutthroat politics on the national level in the last 8 months, even more so than what he learned during a cutthroat campaign.
Dashole will never feel the blade across his throat, until he sees his own blood on the floor.
A colorful description, I admit, but Dubya has demonstrated a colorful side recently, (..."dead or alive, I don't care"...) and I truly feel he will handle Dashole in a masterful manner.
Now, as far as Dashole being able to handle the Hildebeast...that's a different story. Someone earlier mentioned something about some FBI files.
We all know the Hildebeast is capable of anything, as is her loving hubby. She may well be able to manipulate the situation to her advantage.
I will still enjoy the mayhem, as the democrat party self-destructs from within.
