Way to go, I could not have said it better (or nicer).

Thanks for the Pics RWP, I see our president is begining use the bully pulpit and he used it very well today. When the Chaplin said "Mr. President! I too am honored to have you as my Commander in Chief" after the applause he asked "How would you like us to pray for you and your family?" How many times have you ever heard a question like that for a President?, I think George W's honest straight forward approach to the issues is very much appreciated by everyone, and as much as the left wants to demonize him, it asn't working.

The last Poll I saw said that this time last year George W. Bush only had only 9% support among the African American community, he now has 75% support among the African American community. A life long friend of mine who is black and is a devoted democrat told me just yesterday that he was lied to by all the things he read about George W. Bush in the DNC mailings. So I asked him why he thought there was such a turn-about in the way blacks feel about the President now compared to a year ago, he said this to me "It's because has a heart"

Thanks, rintense

Patricia ruth, You are so right about the value of this thread. It has been a little history lesson every day and one that we wouldn't see unless we stayed glued to Fox News all day and maybe not even then.

A picture is worth so much; we have seen our President with almost every world leader and we have seen how much he seems to connect with each of them.

We know a lot more from this thread than the talking heads on all the shows. I believe the Chris Matthews, etc truly have had no idea how well our president has been conducting the affairs of his administration. They rely on the NYT and NBCetc.

It's actually where my dad grew up -- on Bedford Avenue at the corner of Clymer Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The funny thing is that he didn't even make the connection between the street on the corner and the new meaning of "Clymer" until a few months after the "major league" remark. It was only when he bought a new NYC map and saw it that he made the connection.

So, when he took me to his old neighborhood back in July, I knew that I had to take a picture of that street sign and that it would come in handy here on FR. :-D

That's pretty neat, I will have to give him a great big war-mongering pat on the back for that one.

Thanks

See Vera Katz....DEMOCRAT Mayor of Portland? She's the lady in black and white in the 10th picture of Post 4 (bottom right) with that adulation smile on her face....(I'm sure she'd hate it if we thought that.)

Your photos do justice to the awesome performance today. The speech was full of energy and focused on 'matters of consequence' and the audience was responsive and enthusiastic. The weeks in Crawford have been good for the President.

The actual number was 5,000 but don't expect the media to admit it. They lied all during the campaign about how many people he drew to his events. They are disgusting.

Oh, please give it a rest!!!!! There is nothing wrong with the people on this list admiring the President. If you don't like it you don't have to come here.

The President had notes only. Someone on the Bush2000 list was there and gave us a run down on his experience of the Town Meeting. That is George W Bush at his best. He does well in that setting.

>>>>>>I wonder if those words kind of slipped out in the morning meeting and he regretted it. The phrase calls to mind "read my lips..." and what that particular phrase ultimately portended>>>>>>

I don't think he regretted it one bit. He ment every word of it. If the Dems pass a tax raise or repeal his tax cuts he will veto it, period. Althought the Dems are not going to. They will complain but they are too chicken to actually raise taxes.

Fox News said there were 5000 people
