He said that some of the unity in the pursuit of the war needs to come to Washington DC for the economy. Some are playing the "old way", putting their party before their country. He said he is a party man, but he puts the country first. This is a total paraphrase, as I recall it.

Don't worry bout it......that's an even better attack on Daschle. Daschle was belly aching yesterday about Bush domestic programs, and didn't bother to mention that many senators, Kennedy among them, supported some of them.
