Operation Infinite FReep: February 2nd in NYC - Thread II
East Coast FReepers | January 5th, 2002

Posted on 01/05/2002 12:20:38 AM PST by VaMarVet

The Pleasure of your Company is Requested in New York, New York

February 2nd, 2002 – 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. – West Side of Park Ave. Between 48th and 49th

Counter the Anti-American IAC the I-ANSWER Traitors and the rest of the Bin Laden Fan Club

Support Our Country, the President, Our Troops in Harm’s Way and Our Fellow Citizens Who Now Find Themselves on the Front Lines of a New Kind of War

Plans are well under way and Patriots from Florida to Massachusetts and all points in between are preparing to rally in support of our country. FReepers will be arriving by planes, trains and automobiles on February 2nd. For those interested in taking the train use this link to Amtrak to make a reservation. Some DC area FReepers and friends will be taking train # 162 from Union Station and returning on # 169. If you are interested in car pooling post to this thread for requests for riders or a ride. For those interested in taking a bus use this link to Greyhound. Additionally, multitaskmom of Jacksonville, Fl reports that there are some great deals on air travel to NYC available.

Oschisms has submitted the application for a permit and advises us to be flexible and check back here often as the NYPD has a habit of changing the location – even at the 11th hour. The NYC chapter is hard at work in order to make this a first-class rally – one that will make Patriots proud. Plans are also being made for a paying of respects event at the WTC and for an evening get together for all FReepers and friends. Updates will be posted on FR regularly.

Here is why we are going to NYC on 2 February:

“The International ANSWER Coalition - Act Now to Stop War and End Racism - calls for mobilizations on February 1 and 2 in New York City.”

“Mass rally at the World Economic Forum starting at 11:00am Park Ave., between 49th and 50th Bring signs, puppets, street theater, noise-makers, and your creativity.”

· NO to war in Afghanistan and the Middle East!
· NO to corporate-centered globalization!
· YES to jobs, education, health care, and civil rights!

FR rules (thanks D.C. Chapter) will be in effect for this rally for all who stand with us. If you cannot abide by them, you will not be allowed to stand with us. The rules are simple: No violence, no threats, no provocations, no racism, no profanity and no law breaking. All law enforcement personnel must be treated with respect.

Here is a link to Thread I - hope to see you there!

The folks who got laid off are doing better than me:
18 months paid rent,
A thousand for any sort of skill training program,
and unemployment.

They actually called a few people back after a few weeks, who turned the jobs down. Why work when the ground zero related layoff benefits are so good? They would've been doing me a favor.

"..youse guys.."

You're sounding like Marisa Torme now.

"My father was a mechanic. His father was a mechanic. My mother's father was a mechanic. My three brothers are mechanics. Four uncles on my fathers side are mechanics..."

I just realized I mispelled Marisa's name. She is not related to Mel Torme. Marisa Tomei. Remember this line?

'Cause Chevy didn't make a 327 in 55. The 327 didn't come out until 62. And it wasn't offered in the Bel Air with the four barrel carb 'til 64. However, in 1964, the correct ignition timing would be four degrees before tap dead center.”

As long as we are just bumping this great thread, please allow me to plug a new movie with Marisa Tomei (sp?):

"In The Bedroom."

You won't be disappointed.
