THE folks at Msnbc are talking to former Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes about hosting a 10 p.m. show up against Fox News' new hire, Greta Van Susteren. Meanwhile, Van Susteren, a lawyer before her O.J. Simpson commentary turned her into a CNN star, reportedly has penned an eight-page memo detailing CNN's demerits. She plans to keep the document secret as long as CNN doesn't try to paint her as an ungrateful traitor.

Sorry EV, that's a little much coming from you. You've done nothing to prove your assertions, (BTW since you HAVE the proof, why not show it?) so now come the personal attacks. That's the way it's always been with the failed Keyes campaign. I've never regreted one vote so much, in my life......
Now, I'm quite sure if he did, in fact, do that.....with all the documentation, and the emails sent to his followers etc, someone could prove it?
I just posted part of the Keyes2000 newsletter sent to supporters in July. It was then asked "what context" so I posted the complete, dated, AP article in the Keyes2000 update.
So there's the e-mail. There's a dated AP article that can be verified.
I showed my "proof" he stopped his campaign and that he stated he would support Bush prior to the convention.
So. Prove what?
And speaking of Firetalk, I lost interest completely in Keyes when the lady who worked for him as his ? (I forget what it was called) came to a chatroom there and said that the best thing that could happen for Keyes would be for Gore to be elected. This was in July or August 2000. It made me think that Keyes was being very deliberate in withholding his support for Bush, in hopes that Gore would win. You could have heard a pin drop for two minutes, until certain sycophants began endorsing this strategy. Then things got hot.
Alan Keyes is not the enemy.
George Bush is not the enemy.
Daschle and Co., as much as we despise their politics, aren't even the enemy in the true sense. They are our fellow Americans.
Osama Bin Laden is the enemy.
Renegade extremist Islamists are the enemy.
Get some perspective, some proportion and some balance here, people.
Please.
Publicly trying to eviserate the elected president, of your own party, is what thse on the outside do. Being a " party player " is what IS expected . The stem cell reseach thing, was NOT the same thing as standing by, and watching YOUR party's leader do something traitorous. Keyes wanted face time; he got " face time ", ONLY because he was out there trying to shred President Bush. Bush , afterall, was NOT advocating more abortions, so that more research could be done. These experiments are NOT Hitlersque ; which WAS something that Keysters claimed, on that thread.
" Principles " ? Yeah, right, and Alan's vaunted " PRINCIPLES " have gotten him just WHERE ? If I remember correctly, leaving unpaid bills, all over the place, and a Conservative version of Al Sharpton ; that's WHERE !
Well I am afraid that I stand by my decision, I know that you have a problem, and I also think that your kind of talk crosses the line. It's just not necessary. In fact you are unacceptable, you start using allusions to Adolph Hitler, in reference to presidential candidates, and are upset that people get angry. Frankly, crybabies like you belong back in your elementary school classroom, where I am sure you are able to keep order.
I'm sure you'd do the same for me, especially if it shot a hole in the replies you've been making all night about how much you're supported Bush.
That said, there is really only one ass here, Howlin, and I submit that it is you. I've never tried to make the case that Dr. Keyes supported Bush until the Convention, nor did I ever try to set a timeframe for when he issued an endorsement because after the convention, I quit paying attention to what was happening with the GOP, and what Keyes was saying or doing....I was looking for the next candidate I would support. I'd read any e-mails I got from Keyes 2000 and then delete them.
So, get your panties all out of a wad and begin acting civil....I realize you are trying your best to get the thread pulled....hopefully it won't work this time.
You did, in fact, post the first nasty post......and the first LIE.
Alan Keyes has NOT been "nominated so frequently as the GOP candidate in various elections that that is one of the criticisms against him.
These things are self-evidently false...anyone with basic reading comprehension skills can see that it is purely a fabrication. It needs no further addressing from me or anyone else.
This whole thread is rife with slanderous lies against Keyes and others...I could take hours digging them all out. But no thanks. I think honest souls will see them for what they are.
But my point remains...this witchhunt against Keyes...this vociferous, scathing, crushing, of anyone who dares support him and his views...this can have a negative impact on the Republican Party, and on our beloved FreeRepublic that you would scarcely believe.
People here who are doing this need to either grow up, back off, or get run out of town, IMHO.
This unChristian, nasty, organized attack has got to stop, and soon.
My opinion....good night.
Yeah, I saw some posts like that, too. Some of the Buchannan supporters and Phillips and Browne supporters had the same idea. Imagine what horrors might be going on right now, if Gore had been elected.
I don't have much respect for people who would endanger the country and therefore the whole world because they think they know best. You have to know when to stand your ground and when to give ground. Love is not about being pure. It is about being loving. That's where Islam fundamentalists have gone awry -- there obsessed with being pure and love has faded from their awareness.
I see the same with Keyes and his followers. Not to that extreme -- but I'm sure you get the point :)
*ROLLING MY EYES***
For the love of gawd, what DO you think "anti" means?
I agree. Hopefully the moderator has the wisdom to pull the offending posts...the rest of this needs to be worked out.
And pardon me if I don't take civility lessons from YOU. (Do you realize how many people out there snickered when they read YOU telling ME to be CIVIL?)
Seriously, that comment from that mouth has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen here.
I vigorously oppose ESCR and I was extremely disappointed and upset by his decision. Still am. I think it is a disaster.
I also opposed Bush on his reported plan to reward illegal aliens. I oppose his spending increase on education. I oppose his support for affirmative action. I oppose his China policy. So what?
Now go back and repost my comments about President Bush since September 11 regarding his handling of this attack. I refrained from any criticism of the President since then. But that would shoot holes in your attempt to mischaracterize me.
