THE folks at Msnbc are talking to former Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes about hosting a 10 p.m. show up against Fox News' new hire, Greta Van Susteren. Meanwhile, Van Susteren, a lawyer before her O.J. Simpson commentary turned her into a CNN star, reportedly has penned an eight-page memo detailing CNN's demerits. She plans to keep the document secret as long as CNN doesn't try to paint her as an ungrateful traitor.

Since I am not going repost or direct you to the poster who had 1st hand knowledge, I will suggest you reread the thread, as your question has been answered many times. It doesn't seem like the answer fits your agenda, so I won't waste your time and mine.

BOSTON -- Alan Keyes expressed his support for George W. Bush's choice of a running mate Tuesday - and said he had dropped his own campaign against Bush for the Republican nomination.
Keyes won no primaries last winter and spring, but he had remained on the campaign trail spreading his conservative message.
Asked Tuesday if he still considered himself a candidate, Keyes said, "I am not."
A campaign spokeswoman said Keyes had not yet filed withdrawal papers with the Federal Election Commission.
Keyes said he supports Bush's choice of former Defense Secretary Dick Cheney as his running mate, adding that Cheney's anti-abortion views mirrored his own. He said he would join other Republicans to unite behind Bush at the party's convention in Philadelphia next week.
Keyes, who also ran for president in 1996, apparently won 21 delegates this year though the final count could change by a delegate or two. His best showing was in the Iowa caucuses, where he won 14 percent of the vote.
A spokeswoman had said he would consider leaving the Republican Party if Bush chose a running mate who favored abortion rights.
Keyes said Tuesday, "It won't come to that."
He was in Boston to support conservatives who criticized a workshop held for gay teens at Tufts University in March. The workshop was sponsored by a national gay organization but included two members of the state Department of Education's HIV/AIDS awareness program.
Keyes said the workshop's teachings violated the rights of parents who believe homosexuality is immoral.
sorry, I don't..... especially considering the level of hostility and vitriol this poster has shown since post #4 of this thread
I honestly think this person may need some prefessional help.

Bush is going to prove a disaster for the country; I had hoped against hope it would be otherwise.
I'm sorry I voted for him.

I believe we established that night that FlyTheFLag might be Mr. Keyes himself. Can't remember.
Well, I would have, but they told me that you had to reorder and they were fresh out.
I haven't engaged in personal attacks. I asked you to refrain from doing so as well.
Now, you say that you intend to use " brass knuckles " . Metaphorically , or not, that is NOT to be tolerated here; re the posted rules for replying .
Completely off topic, but WHY are you so invested in Keyes, that you are ready to cravenly debase those who find his anti-BUSH behavior offensive ? There is NO way that he will be the GOP's presidential candidate , in 2004. I'd be rather surprised , IF he jumped ship completely and tried to run as a fringe candidate. It does NOT harm me, if some people , here, rail against President Bush. It does NOT harm you, when others rail against Keyes. It harms ALL of us, when such devisiveness is allowed to grow and fester.
Use facts, and NOT " feelings ", to refute posts. PLEASE ?
No, I can't say that I spend much time thinking about it, to tell you the truth. (I'm actually surprised to see this battle still raging. Hasn't it gotten to be just a bit monotonous after two years?)
That's a damn lie.
Not just a lie, but a "damn lie," eh? How so?
Not sure if the facts or decency matters in this milieu, but there are lots of people watching.
Regards...EV
Most ordinary folks will be able to see through this gang-banging of a great American, Dr. Keyes.
Hey, now there's somethin solid you can build a house on!
/sarcasm
I used to get pretty nasty right along with them but decided a few months ago that I would be much nicer and stick to provable/documented facts.
It's not as much fun but then it's less stressful.
As a matter of fact, I doubt if Keyes finds it easy to support anyone or praise anyone other than himself. An ego like his has no room for the excellence of others. I really can't recall him showing any admiration for another person. Alan Keyes is out for Alan Keyes and will never be a team player even if the team members agree with him 100%. Gosh, come to think of it.....that would be a real dilemma wouldn't it? How could he put together an agenda based on arguing and criticizing his own beliefs? Hmmmmmmm????????
My point is that once you have a thread like this one, which was simply reporting a rumor about a possible Keyes TV show, you often get a fair group of folks, usually led by Howlin, who come in and start trashing the Ambassador, and anyone who backs him. Once that happens, the gauntlet is on the ground, and you can expect a vigorous response.
To recap this thread, early on there was a post from a fellow under the impression that Keyes had been the Libertarian Party Presidential candidate. I corrected him sharply, pointing out that Keyes had been the Republican nominee in various elections. At that point Howlin put on his Jack Boots as follows:
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
, and that Alan Keyes has been nominated so frequently as the GOP candidate in various elections that that is one of the criticisms against him.
How about listing all the ones he was NOMINATED for; not the ones he RAN for; list ALL the ones you say that he has been NOMINATED for so frequently.

I wonder how the Keyesters will explain it when Keyes gets horrible ratings because nobody wants to listen to his bombastic verbose talk about himself.
Oh, what am I saying? They'll say two things:
1) Keyes is much too smart for the "rest of us" to understand.
Or they'll say
2) It's because he's black.

You will note that YOU were among the little group of Storm Troopers whom he summoned to this particular Krystalnacht. Well my friend, I am afraid that we will not cower in our rooms for you to haul to your 'camps'. If you want to fight, and seeing your arrival to the summons, you obviously did, expect no quarter on my part.
