I fear you are going to be sadly disappointed. If you think Dr. Keyes is going to be able to talk about pro-life issues and the Declaration of Independence, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
If Fox wouldn't hire him, does it not make you wonder why MSNBC would? Aren't you the tiniest bit curious?

And here, for your pleasure, is a bit of Mark Twain on Malice:
"Malice ... the basest of all instincts, passions, vices -- the most hateful."
It will be fun to discuss the show with you, if and when it airs.
Happy New Year,
Richard F.

If you think Dr. Keyes is going to be able to talk about pro-life issues and the Declaration of Independence...
My comment had absolutely nothing to do with any TV show Keyes would host. However, I am disappointed that rather than support someone that would discuss and educate people on the issues of life and the Declaration, many here have decided to redicule and mock. As far as MSNBC hiring Dr. Keyes, I offer no speculation...other than after seeing Fox rise in the ratings they have concluded that they need a strong Conservative voice for balance.

Thanks. I'll look forward to that!

I don't agree with everything Alan Keyes says, but he certainly says it well. I love hearing the guy talk and when he gets on a roll it can be downright inspiring. And, if I am not mistaken, Dr. Keyes' heritage is African-American. Bush's support among minorities is now as high as 40%. Having an articulate black Republican on TV every night, even one who is well to the right of Bush on many issues, will not be a bad thing for the GOP. Far from it. GO ALAN!

If ya can arrange it, how bout a date with Liv Tyler even though I hear she might be a little off :>)

Keyes will be very entertaining (a big TV draw). FOX might have to bounce Greta and have Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell co-host a 10pm show if they want to win the ratings war.

Ms Tyler is currently having the air in her head changed and is unavailable. I could arrange a date with a large Bell Pepper which would be just as intellectually stimulating, but also nutritious.

You know from now on will be looking for any that you make.Actually I never make any. (Grins and struts about looking important)., OK, OK, I do, but I don't think they usually extend to misidentifying the political party of guys who run for President.
To: Howlin
How about listing all the ones he was NOMINATED for;I will name one, and leave it for you to research his website for the others (consider it an exercise): GOP candidate for US Senator from Maryland.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
That's not what you said though, is it? You seemed to know what you're talking about.
What am I to think if you, who first brought this up, can't or won't name the offices he was NOMINATED for?
BTW, you brought it up, as I said; you should be prepared to back it up with the facts, not send us off to do your research.

"Malice ... the basest of all instincts, passions, vices -- the most hateful."I hope you're implying that Mr. Keyes will take that to heart and not try to make "points" by bashing President Bush time and time again.

We would all do well to avoid malice. I was not thinking particularly of Dr. Keyes. Perhaps you should reread this thread.
Anyway, Happy New Year, and I will remember you and yours in my prayers.
Best to you,
Richard F.

I was not thinking particularly of Dr. Keyes.I didn't think so. Somehow, you don't seem to see the same "malice" toward Bush in Keyes' words that we do. How surprising. Not.
Perhaps you should reread this thread.
Richard, you REALLY do need to find another swipe to take at us; implying that we, once again, have misread and misinterpreted a thead is getting pretty old and is losing it's "orginality."
BTW, are you praying that I'll wake up and see Keyes' value to politics? If so, pray harder. And for more people.

Please don't take offense, most of all about my remark on prayer.
I think the thread is fairly simple ... Keyes may have a significant public podium, and some of us think that will be good, and some not. Some have said rather sarcastic things about the prospects.
I sent you freepmail about my remark concerning prayer. That sort of thing is better kept private. But, I have not been praying about your politics ... though I guess we should, indeed, pray for everything we would wish.
Best to you and yours in the coming year, and to this country and its President,
Richard F.

What am I to think if you, who first brought this up, can't or won't name the offices he was NOMINATED for? Since I answered your question, and named the office he was nominated for, what am I to think of you, Gollum? Go back into your cave, and guard your preciousssss.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Since I answered your question, and named the office he was nominated forBut that's NOT what you said, is it?
You said:
and that Alan Keyes has been nominated so frequently as the GOP candidate in various elections that that is one of the criticisms against him.
And I ask you to NAME all the offices he has been so frequently nominated to; you named ONE.
So, name the rest of them.
Or were you exaggerating?

Let's take a vote on the first person he'll call "Massa".I don't know about that, but I'll bet he won't criticize the Republicans in congress for "balancing the budget on the backs of the poor."
Seriously though, I can't wait to see him destroy the arguments of his liberal adversaries by using logic and reason without resorting to calling them names such as "big time a$$holes."
I know many here will disagree with him when he criticizes the president's massive increase in spending on Education or when he refuses to join in the PC condemnation of using profiling to combat terrorism, but it's always good to hear both sides of an issue.
To: Deb
Okay, you convinced me. I settle for the bell pepper.
