THE folks at Msnbc are talking to former Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes about hosting a 10 p.m. show up against Fox News' new hire, Greta Van Susteren. Meanwhile, Van Susteren, a lawyer before her O.J. Simpson commentary turned her into a CNN star, reportedly has penned an eight-page memo detailing CNN's demerits. She plans to keep the document secret as long as CNN doesn't try to paint her as an ungrateful traitor.

That very thought occurred to me. Richard, if Keyes gets the slot, you should counsel him. :)
So, care to explain to us all why, AFTER Bush had beennominated at the convention, Keyes STILL did not come out in support of Bush until the last of October (which is a LONG time AFTER July, in case you don't know it)?
From what I understand from one who worked for him, Alan does not listen to what he doesn't want to hear. I suppose it might be an effort in vain.
Funny, I haven't run into those remarks of yours. Perhaps you could point me to them. What I have run into are threads in which you post Keyes articles with headlines to bait a flame war, in which paid Keyes staffers then run onto to "defend" by calling it Rush technique of illustrating the absurd, and in which the thread gets pulled because the flame wars go over the top.
If you wished to debate the point I brought up, I said that you had me as a Keyes voter, but you lost me. It seems to me that a serious campaign, would want to understand that. I once owned a business.......I learned that I could make my business much better by understanding the complaints of my customers.
Other than all the obvious reasons, I think it was also a way to justify still mailing fundraising packets ad nauseum. I found that extremely presumptuous and annoying.
Are you now claiming that it was honorable Mr. Keyes' JOB to make derrogatory remarks about Candidate Bush?
And how do you justify that moral giant, Mr. Keyes, calling George W. Bush, President of the United States, evil?
(Word to the wise: don't try that "it's been denied" routine again like you did with PhiKapMom -- we have THAT one bookmarked, too.)
Thank you.
I sure don't feel or think I am superior to anyone. In fact, all the Freepers are more educated and smarter than me.
I used to post only one line replies because I was afraid someone would make fun of me for my grammer or spelling or whatever.
There were a few things I disagreed with Keyes about, but for the most part, I agree with what he says.
What I most like about Keyes is he has never changed his position on anything that I know of.
I remember a year or so ago when most on FR loved Larry Klayman. He was after Democrats. But then he started in on a Republican (I don't remember which one), and most started saying he was just trying to get more money.
Well, my two typing fingers are tired.
I had you as a Keyes voter? I lost you? Now you lost me! I have no idea what you are talking about.
Thank you for the wonderful sentiment, I feel the same way. I miss the interaction we have had in the past. There were many good times.
I wish you a wonderful New Year. Sue
There is an enormous amount of wisdom in this statement. However, an out-of-control ego often cannot step aside for common sense because it threatens its very being.
I believe that was YOUR statement, wasn't it? :-)
BTW, this "we're above the fray" thing is wearing a little thin. We DO bookmark threads, you know.
LOL.........and on and on it goes.
Oh, I guess you mean the "fluff" with the 80-90% approval rating.
Do you really think that you won't see conflict and acrimony in Keyes threads -- when it is almost always stated or implied that Alan Keyes and his followers are the most moral, intelligent and patriotic people on the planet???
Why do I think that Keyes would assert that GW is worse than Hitler?
I think that is part of the way Keyes would try and get an audience. I think he would believe it would get publicity and make more people watch his show.
And I think Keyes and his worshippers really believe that they are so superior to everyone else that anyone who doesn't hold their views is wrong and quite possibly evil.
