Thanks for the heads up! When he originally threatened to use executive privilege I wondered why on thread - because IMHO, it can be easily defeated if there is probable cause of criminal conduct. (Nixon tapes for instance.)
So I still wonder if the administration actually wants the congress to force the information out of them in court - so that, when they discover all the misconduct, the press and public cannot finger this administration as being "out to get" the Clintons and crew?
Thanks, AG! That was exactly my first take on his executive privilege claim. It still makes sense to me! By the way, I'm sure if the files are dragged out of the administration, I have faith the press will either:
1. Twist it all around and find someone (likely a Republican) to blame for it.
2. Shut down coverage on it - as if there's any REAL coverage on it now?? (Example: The Ron Brown case).
It will be interesting to see how it develops. The press will surely avoid exposing anything hurtful to the left, especially if it shows their own past bias. The public however has been voting with their pocketbook and giving the nod to FoxNews and alternatives - and away from CNN, printed news and network news. It'll be interesting...
