If Buchanan wants changes, he could begin by taming his racist rants, call on the citizens of this country (of all races) to demand that immigration laws be enforced, and start a grassroots campaign that would demand that our spurious legislators (who love to create laws to burden citizens) must stop creating new laws until they create a law that will hold themselves personally responsible - if any of the new laws that they pass are not enforced.

Amen RS! If only the Californicators on this site to whom conservatism means not having Mexicans living in the neighborhood would heed your advice, the immigration threads on this site would be more intelligent.

BTW: Speaking as someone who has lived most of his life in and around NYC, I have typically found immigrant-haters to be Archie Bunker types who are not numerous or smart enough to organize a successful campaign. These NY area xenophobes tend to live in Staten Island, Nassau and Suffolk counties, all of which went for GORE!

You and Rs both have it entirely wrong. There is nothing remotely racist about the FACT that many Mexicans want all of the benefits of the US without adopting the history, language and culture of the US. And Buchanan correctly points this out. If they wish to retain their "culture" they can have it all---South of the border.
