Hindu activists are particularly angered by missionaries from some Christian sects who portray revered Hindu gods as false idols. Some even preach that the Hindu religion is the work of the devil.Of course Christian missionaries should not be beaten or otherwise mistreated. Christianity does have a tendency to condemn all other religions as evil or satanic. This understandably makes non-Christians angry. And this is a trait which is unique to Christianity. Buddhists, Hindus, Moslems and Jews do not condemn all other religions as evil. Not even the fundamentalists in these religions do this. Not even in a holy war against people of another religion. They will say that the people are evil, or that the country they come from is evil, but not that their religion is evil. Only Christians do this.

Hmmmm...can't step on an ant (reincarnation---might be an Aunt), can't kill a cow (reincarnation---might be a cousin) can't feed the beggars (they're poor because of bad "karma" from a previous life, don't wanna disturb that, bad karma) but its OK to rape, beat and kill Christians.
What a lovely religion Hinduism must be.

Like you ever gave a **** about Christians in India before today.

Digging up this 2 year old report now and putting your spin on the title is a pretty pathetic attempt.
There are 40 million Christians in India and I have many Indian Christian friends who can attest to something quite different. At best this is an isolated incident in a country of 1 Billion people.
It doesn't compare to the church-massacre in Pakistan a few weeks ago. Keep digging - you'll find something!

I'd like to see the year 2001 quote of "President" Clinton's protest against church burnings.

The persecution, rape, and murder of Christians in Indonesia is much, much, much worse than this and has been for years. But don't hold your breath waiting for Justin Raimondo to cry for them.
Why?
Could it be because their murderers are MUSLIM?
Oh, c'mon Montag, you don't think he's biased, do you?

All those cheering on an Indian attack on Pakistan because the latter is Mohammedan ought to read this article. Idol worshipers known as Hindus aren't much better.

Hindu fundamentalism -- it isn't pretty. And what do you know of Hindu fundamentalism?

While Christian persecution in India is alive and well, and is certainly nothing to scoff at, I find it odd that you are now digging up a two year old article. Anything to try and defend Islam eh Justin?

In 1997, Indian police broke up a Christian religious festival with gunfire. The festival was promoting the theme "Jesus Is the Answer."
Since Christmas 1998, Christians have been subjected to a reign of terror which has seen the murder of priests, the rape of nuns, the burning of churches, attacks on Christian schools and prayer halls, and other incidents carried out by supporters of the pro-Fascist Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), the parent organization of the ruling BJP, which was formed in support of the Nazis.
RSS activists also burned missionary Graham Staines and his two young sons, ages 8 and 10, to death while they slept in their jeeps. The killers gathered around the jeep chanting "Victory to Hannuman," a Hindu god. The Indian government's response to this atrocity is to throw Mr. Staines's widow out of the country.
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee told an audience in New York last year, "I will always be a Swayamsewak." One of hsi cabinet ministers were quoted as saying that everyone who lives in India must either be Hindu or be subservient to Hinduism.
And Christians aren't the only ones. Sikhs,Muslims, Dalit "untouchables," and other minorities have been subjected to the oppression of the militant, fundamentalist Hindu nationalists, the Hidutva fanatics who control India.
This is the real face of Indian secularism, and it is not pretty.
