The reports and rumors came in a torrent: A car bomb had exploded at the State Department. The Mall was in flames. The Pentagon had been destroyed. Planes were bearing down on the capital.Imagine if our al Qaeda friends had been able to coordinate their assets in the field with a little more depth or subtlety; e.g. the detonation of car bombs at the State Department, suicide bombers on the Hill, sniper attacks on The Mall. Thank God our enemies are idiots.
We really shouldn't underestimate those people. The World Trade Center was not brought down by idiots. Consider them as intelligent enough to accomplish their goals and act accordingly to eliminate the enormous threat they pose.
