Being the most wanted man in the world can be hell on your complexion.
Terror mastermind Usama bin Laden lashed out at Americans once again in his most recent video speech, aired Wednesday by the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera satellite news channel, but the ugliness of his words was competing for attention with his drastically changed appearance.

I still can't help noticing the actual ABSENCE of his left arm. It looks like either the
arm is behind him or is not there at all. If he lost an arm, that could explain the anemic,
"bloodless" look on his face.
I agree with you. My Dad looked at the video and believed bin Laden looked "like a different person" but to my eyes he looks exactly the same.
I believe the difference is, as you point out, the lighting. If the light shining on a person is northernly light, or if it's reflecting off something "cool" (blue-ish), that changes the way a person skin looks in a very dramatic way, just the way the video looks. Even if the light is too bright for the camcorder, that can cause the "look" of the video.
I think a lot of people in the West get "spoiled" by normal "news" video that is almost always shot with a whole crew -- makeup people, lighting experts, color-correction in post-production, etc. Raw stuff like this just looks strange to some people...
If you look at the bin Laden video and look past the trivial lighting effects, it's hard to see much of a difference.

I hope this ba*tard rots while he's still alive. A good New Year's present for me would be to have him in the crosshairs of my deer rifle scope. Slowly squeezing the trigger, savoring the buck of the rifle against my shoulder, and watching the top of his freakin head disappear in a pink mist! I've never felt this way about anyone before, but this turd's special!
2. The tape would not have been released if it was needed as admissible evidence for a court trial.
3. No court case is expected.
4. OBL is dead.
It would be VERY, VERY strange if he did not experience some stress at the present moment.
The man depicted in these videos varies so much from one to another, that I wonder which is the real Osama.
Will the real Osama bin Laden please stand up?
His eyes look different, but that's probably from lack of sleep.
His beard is also looking worse, but he has more pressing things to worry about than making himself look pretty on camera.
Agreed. A lot of what makes him look sick could be the lighting or the quality of the video. A clue is his cammo is bright and washed out and it takes a lot of light to do that to cammo.
His eyes appear heavier in the new video, meaning he could be sick, but he could just be tired, too. And the lack of arm movement could be just another one of his ways of signalling his puppets.
All the experts, of which I am not included, could be thinking wishfully. My wish is we get him and get him good.
I think he's just having a "bad beard day"!!!
