Here's the picture that pro-abortionists and the media don't want you to see.

The tiny hand of a fetus reaches out from a mother's womb to clasp a surgeon's healing finger. It shows a 21-week-old fetus in its mother's womb, about to undergo a spine operation designed to save it from serious brain damage (by the way, at 21 weeks old, this baby could still be legally aborted). The tiny hand in the picture above belongs to a baby which is due to be born on December 28.  It was taken during an operation in America recently.  The baby is literally hanging on for life. For this is one of the most remarkable photographs taken in medicine and a record of one of the world's most extraordinary operations.  The surgery was carried out entirely through the tiny slit visible in the wall of the womb and the `patient' is believed to be the youngest to undergo it.

Dear Friends and Family,  

Samuel arrived on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 6:25 pm at Northside Hospital weighing 5 lbs 11 oz and 20 1/2 " long. He was born at 36 weeks but came into the world screaming his head off! He did not have to spend any time in a neonatal unit and came home with us on Monday, Dec. 6.  After viewing an ultrasound of his brain, Samuel's neurosurgeon was very optimistic as he does not have any hydrocephalus and the brain  malformation has resolved. He is moving his legs very well from the hips and some from the knees. He was frank breech (folded in half) in the womb and the orthopedist feels that he has a good chance for walking. He will begin physical therapy next week in order to work out some of the stiffness in his legs that was a result of his being folded in half in the womb. He is also nursing very well.   

 Thank you all for your prayers and support. We are happier than we ever dreamed possible!

I had seen this story and picture a couple of years ago, and it is part of what made me so extremely against abortion today.

I've lived in a variety of places and talkd to a variety of people. I truly believe that that the majority of our country is conservative. The reason why so many don't speak out because they feel intimidated by the liberal media, and that if they say something that's not PC, then they will be mocked and ridiculed. Plus the majority of the people aren't educated enough on the truth because the media won't speak against abortion and the schools now are promoting abortions. I really don't have any bright ideas. But if someone else had a good idea I would definitly be the first one to volunteer.

By your rationale, the medical community shouldn’t be using cadavers to teach med students what they need to know in order to perform skilled surgery, because cadavers were once human beings.

I'm sure I couldn't support everything GW does, but on the issue you raised, I didn't have a problem with his decision. One, because the embryo is already dead and Two, because the issue gave him the ability to draw a line in the sand with regard to the government's sanctioning via money for research, i.e. no money towards producing embryos for the purpose of killing them for research.

Not only does the president have to muster the moral conscience of America from the brainwashing of the nineties, but he must also muster the political clout to remain in office to do it. The way he handled this situation did both in my opinion.

Poor comparison. I dissected cadavers in med school.

I never experimented on the living tissues of human's created only in order to be destroyed, to harvest their living tissues. No one in cadaver lab was dissecting a body conceived and grown only to be dissected.

To cause a human life to begin only to be used for science/profit is a crime that cries out to God for vengence, alongside all the others of the last century.

Please illustrate this "line in the sand." There is none.

A pro-life leader would be championing the ban on fetal stem cell research even by the private sector. Banning fed funding knowing damn well the real problem lies with the private sector is a cowards way of trying to look pro-life.

I have held my tongue on FSCR up till now. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was about Bush's decision that was unsettling. Now, after 9/11/01, it all stands out in bass relief.

Why should God Bless America, as we create human beings purely for destrucxtion and profit?

Why should God Bless America, as we kill the child in the womb?

Why should God Bless America, as we tolerate the advance of the homosexual agenda?

Why should God Bless America, as we ignore the roots of it all, the grave sin of contraception (especially abortifacient contraception, including the pill and all other hormonal contraceptives)?

Alien2, I'm a conservative pro-lifer, but I also realize that life ain't perfect. There are some that think it could be, but they're either deluded or 14 years old.

The fact is, only Bush or Gore could win the election in 2000. Howard Phillips couldn't. Pat Buchanan couldn't. Knowing this, and being pro-life, you choose the best person on the abortion issue. And Bush is the best person on the abortion issue. Gore would be clinking champagne glasses with the folks at NARAL celebrating the millionth customer served. Bush is for the most part, holding the line and making small moves that are pro-life. We also have to realize that in this country, half the people are rampantly pro-abortion and more are moderately so. We do the best we can, and we also take into account other issues (which is why Bush is still light years ahead of Gore, and also Phillips and especially Buchanan, whose other beliefs I think, negate his pro-life views).
