China's tariffs on U.S.-made goods are to fall from an overall average of 25 percent to 9 percent by 2005. Duties on America's primary farm products are to drop from 31 percent to 14 percent.

I am dumbfounded by this development.

Can you say, "prison labor" for US/Global industrialists?

I thought you could! ;)

Most of you are wrong. The more China is opened up the more they are in danger of losing control of their iron grip. They can steal anything from our open society already and they can dump their junk on the open market already, so this will make them play by the rules and the WTC can restrict some of this activity. In the end GW knows that this will hurt the communist rulers more than it will help them as the Soviet Union discovered. Competition and open markets go both ways and the Chinese will develope a yang for American superior goods. Just like the Japanese buying up every American muscle car they can get their hands on.

I meant "in earnest". Sorry, I just meant that our mindset is about local scale half a$$ terror actions while theirs is about WWIII and full blown terror response.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! maybe it's finally starting to sink in, all the stuff dismissed as tinfoil hat or outright banned before.

High level two/one party system=globalist goons, run by the CFR-style folks. Interested in being multi millionaires in the global two class society of masters and serfs, with them as the masters. Obvious as night and day, and has been for years and years now..

Don't listen to what politicans of either party say, see what they do, great rule of thumb that will never let ya down.

China-according to the china apologists and free blood profits traders- was supposed to have significant democratic/western style reforms by now, many years of more and more trade now, it's been happening, maybe not complete, but on the way there, so-where's the mongolian beef? Where is it? Do they have freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of association-are they free to form political parties, or are the people free to own firearms? Is criticism of the state free yet? On and on, they have gotten TRILLIONS of dollars in trade and not ONE feedom for the chinese people has come about. NADA! Now, there's no more carrot! That's it, that was the last carrot we had, holding back trade just a smidgen, now that's gone, poof, right on schedule, too after a decade or so of lies by both parties. Welcome to the new world order, not even hidden, not even being acknowledged yet.

Hey george, outstanding job for those farmers in klamath, glad you could take time out of your busy schedule and sign something for them! Oh--they are just dumb ole rednecks and some of your billionaire buds gonna need that land in awhile, and that hydro electric needs the water for some more billionaire buddies? OK, I understand now, carry on.

The cheerleaders will keep on cheering I predict, right into the cattle cars.

Hey, we don't have gore and clinton, that means no more problems or lying. The dims don't have the whitehouse, that means everything is , right? Ya, the "adults" are in charge, the CFR adults, same as they were last go-around on the political psycho babble dog and pony show. The great fake out continues!

From the Michigan Debate Calvin College, 01/11/00

BUSH. ...There are some folks in our country who believe we ought to trade with Cuba. I don't. I think that would be wrong-headed. I think it's be a mistake. Capital that goes into Cuba will be used by the Fidel Castro government to prop itself up. There is a commission-type system in Cuba. Dollars invested will be dollars that will end up supporting this totalitarian regime. It's in our best interests for us to promote freedom in the island right off the coast of Florida. It's in our best interest to keep the pressure on Fidel Castro until he allows free elections, free press and free the prisoners in that island. And for those Americans that believe that trade with Cuba will cause Castro to become less totalitarian, in my judgment are naïve and wrong.

BAUER. Governor, you just made the case for withdrawing most favored nation status from China.

BUSH. I did not.

BAUER. Everything that you just said about Cuba applies to China.

Oh yea the purchasing power of the Communist Leadership of China is really gonna turn our economy around. China has very few who can afford the luxuries as you see China is mostly slave labor with just enough paid for room and board. I'm so very certain they are considering purchasing a new Corvette or Caddy this year or in the next 50 for that matter.

You can not compare Japans society to China and make a valid point of it. It took a war to change them remember? China is working on a military build up. Good grief they don't even deny such and people swollow the propagana of corp America saying otherwise. Also forgotten in this mess is the fact China is state owned lock, stock, and barrel.

Actually, we are not.

This is a Representative Republic.

Our leaders are not compelled by law to take the will of the people into account, it's just politically expediant to do so.

CRAWFORD, Texas - President George W. Bush on Thursday granted permanent normal trade status to China, calling it "a final step in normalising US-China trade relations".

Bush also terminated the 1974 Jackson-Vanik law that bars normal trade relations with communist states that restrict emigration.

More recently, Jackson-Vanik has been at the centre of annual debates over the human rights records of China and Vietnam, with lawmakers challenging presidential waivers of the law made to promote trade.

Lol ... long overdue, don't you think?

I love how China keeps rubbing their faces in it. Blowing hard about the Gertz piece as Bush burnishes this gift for them ... taking down the EP-3E while Uncle Prescott and his US/China Chamber of Commerce junket are on the mainland ...

You have to give 'em points for chutzpah.

Thank goodness Bush has the over 30 years' experience of this nation's pre-eminent Maotais on which to rely.

I'm sure his Daddy -- our first ambassador to Red China, advisor to Clinton on handling China and brother of the head of the US/China Chamber of Commerce -- wouldn't steer the President wrong where China's concerned.

Everyone should go back to sleep ... or take a moment and reflect on how clever was Bush's Clintonesque keeping of his promise re: embryonic stem cell testing.

I'm sure he knows what's best. Keep the Faith.

Replied to this as I have finally gotten used to the Korean version of these ( much harder to handle ! )

First of all.. "Permanent" is not - Can you say ABM Treaty ?

Second- The world deals with China - until we learn how to compete with them in the same markets, they win... They don't need us.

Lastly - ( and most importantly ) We really don't care if governments in another country kill their people or use them as slaves. ... who really knew or gave a damn about Afganistan ?
