Your #99 post is the most important. Maoism and Islam converge. The Maoists are causing terror in Nepal and India and OBL finds refuge among them.

Gertz's article hints at China supplying weapons. Just recently, 1200 Chinese AK47s are sent to Maoist terroists in India. Not to mention awhile back, the 2000 that came into the U.S. via China's shipping company that were headed for gangs.

Islam in China is historically the preferred religion and is becoming the "preferred" religion now. The religious reform will continue to persecute Catholics.

In Turkmenistan, the self appointed "communist president" just constructed the world's largest mosque and the U.S. embassy advertises this as religious reform. No sign of christian support. Why is it that we have a habit of supporting muslims and not christians when it comes to "economic reform" in foreign countries?

FACT: I have humint, Bush does not. The Tsar of Russia had less humint than the miserable communist activists - peasants, workers and intellectuals - who did not even have the internet. That's what destroyed Russia and America is on the exact same path. There is a complete disconnect between US institutions and the cults the people embrace, and, on top of it all, our institutions are now applying "multi-cultural" agendas that have been specificaly tailor made to provide our intelligence and military institutions with human resources from the radical cult reservoir out there.

Bush does not understand what it is to be a John Walker or joining the very powerful cult of the poor. Why do you think arabs show no introspection into Islam after the WTC bombing like we do about the "crusades"? Why do you think Russia and China still develop envious hostility? The cult of the poor still exists and hates America. It is ever more powerful than before, able now to destroy the WTC easily.

I do not expect Bush to figure that out. He is too much into business lala land while crooked and enemy advisors tell him to pick employees into radical activist pools such as the gay, environment, and other liberal/communist muslim agendas.

Just remember this: when they come knocking on your door, deny deny deny, and don't fight back for your confiscated belongings, they are not worth it. Fight for your life.

I hope the Bush team knows the appropriate steps to take that will empower Chinese citizens without empowering their government.

I guess they could use the Patriot Act, E.O. 13033, military tribunals, and "executive privileges" claimed by the current administration as working models for implementation of such 'citizen empowerment.'

Peh, if you don't think that the average Chinese citizen could benefit from a more American-style system of government, then you're fooling yourself.

Speaking specifically to the three temporary government policies you cite, if those were American policies in peacetime, then I'd agree with you that they are not shining examples of ways to treat your citizens and your country's guests. HOWEVER, it is not bright to suggest that civil liberties should be strictly maintained when a nation's way of life is on the line. Thinking long term and assuming that there is an interest in maintaining our country's strength, it makes sense to give up liberties in the short term if it means an increased ability to maintain them over a longer term.

So if the results of these tribunals and increased DOJ power is that our country emerges stronger than it otherwise would have, and therefore better able to defend and possibly spread liberty in the future, then the right decisions have been made. Assuming, of course, that the "stolen" liberties return in peacetime.
