Residents in Florida say raccoons are breaking into their homes and helping themselves to bread and beer.
At least four householders have complained to animal control officers in Fort Myers.
One woman says they ate two loaves of bread and spilled beer on her floor when they broke into her home.
Marianne Kinzer said: "I'd like to teach them to do laundry."
Residents think the raccoons used to live on a 56-acre former farm where builders have started construction work.
"Ever since then these animals have nowhere to go, of course, and they're coming into our homes," Ms Kinzer added.
"If they have problems with that kind of stuff, they have to call trappers," Loretta Weigand, chief animal control officer for Lee County animal services says.
Residents say they're thinking about hiring a trapper to catch the raccoons.

Ummm...is Marianne saying that learning to do laundry would make the racoons better than her husband?
