In all of the faith teaching that I ascribe to we are instructed to seek ye first the kingdom of God. Never have I been instructed to seek the riches first. God is the SOURCE of all things and seeking ONLY Him opens one to His gifts and provisions and blessings.

The faith movement DID go astray with warped messages but there ARE still "faith teachers" that teach it correctly.

If that is indeed your belief, and I have no reason to doubt it is, then may God guide and direct your path. Christians of every background should study to see if doctrines they embrace are true. There is a plethora of well thought out books addressing theology. From Augustine, to Calvin, to Luther, to Edwards, ect. We should read these books and glean understanding from the Saints of old.

Some of my reservations with Word of Faith doctrine is that it is completely absent from 1900 years of Christian thought; and emerged after the metaphysical sects wrote about how positive confession gives you your desires. I am but a human so if my theology is wrong, may God reveal it to me. I sincerly hope you have a happy new year and may both of us mature in our understanding of Gods word.
