In all of the faith teaching that I ascribe to we are instructed to seek ye first the kingdom of God. Never have I been instructed to seek the riches first

If that is indeed your belief, and I have no reason to doubt it is, then may God guide and direct your path. Christians of every background should study to see if doctrines they embrace are true. There is a plethora of well thought out books addressing theology. From Augustine, to Calvin, to Luther, to Edwards, ect. We should read these books and glean understanding from the Saints of old.

Some of my reservations with Word of Faith doctrine is that it is completely absent from 1900 years of Christian thought; and emerged after the metaphysical sects wrote about how positive confession gives you your desires. I am but a human so if my theology is wrong, may God reveal it to me. I sincerly hope you have a happy new year and may both of us mature in our understanding of Gods word.

I agree. Before I was saved... I was going to a church that was big into metaphysics. Ooeeegooey feel-good...projecting "the light" on your enemies to get them to agree with you or change their mind...etc. It's manipulation and witchcraft... with a sugar-coating.

Problem is...that some have a knee-jerk reaction to all faith-based doctrines, without looking into the basis of their teaching.... whether they are scripturally sound... and Christ is preached.

Hope you have a Blessed New Year!
