May I borrow this word for my next game of Scrabble? Or Pictionary?

Sure, it's a real word, too.
pseudohermaphroditism

in human beings, a condition in which the individual has a single chromosomal and gonadal sex but combines features of both sexes in the external genitalia, causing doubt as to the true sex. Female pseudohermaphroditism refers to an individual with ovaries but with secondary sexual characteristics or external genitalia resembling those of a male. Usually at puberty the female secondary sex characteristics develop. If the condition is identified at birth, the child may be raised as a female with a minimum of social readjustment. Administration of certain corticosteroids prevents further development of the condition, and surgery may be used to correct any residual genital defects.

Male pseudohermaphroditism refers to individuals whose gonads are testes but whose secondary sexual characteristics or external genitalia resemble those of a female. In this disorder the fetal target organs are unable, for unknown reasons, to react to testosterone produced by the fetal testes. [The reasons aren't entirely unknown since the lack of androgen receptors makes target tissues unable to respond to males hormones] The most common type is testicular feminization, wherein the external genitals are entirely feminine, and at puberty female secondary sex characteristics appear, yet the gonads are testes, and the sex-chromosome pattern is male. The disorder is sometimes recognized at puberty when menstruation fails to begin. In testicular feminization, because there is little or no response to male hormones and because the external genitalia are female, the child is raised as a female. Other forms of male pseudohermaphroditism can be altered to become "complete" male, and such children may be raised as males.

One of the doctors who taught this part of graduate level biochem said of one instance he saw, "I said, 'That's either a very small penis or a very large clitoris.'" Another example given was of a freshman student from the college who came in for an exam because "she" wasn't menstruating. Further tests revealed that "she" had defective androgen receptors and was genetically male. It was a big shock.

You have already stated your argument on that point more than once. You are dead wrong on all counts. I am afraid you need to go back to conservative school for a refresher.

Knowledge is power, knowing where your enemy stands on certain issues, makes you stronger.

And I make it a point to know eaxctly what groups view what. Now leftist man-hating liberal feminists loath male-to-female transsexuals. And leftist man-hating feminists are indifferent to female-to-male transsexuals.

Also, the leftist liberal homosexual groups have only paid a token responce, lip service towards transsexuals. The leftist liberal homosexual groups don't really like transsexuals either.

Now the strangest thing I have found out about transsexuals is that up to 90% of them, the ones not shown on Jerry Springer or the leftist media, hold more conservative values, than liberal values.

By the way, what in the heck is nature vs. nurture! I thought it was the debate over breast feeding. LOL! Trans gender ajustment as you people put it is the most sickening thing I've heard of in my lifetime. Disgusting. Morbid. Anti-human sicko crap.

You really should learn to be more polite, but since you asked.

The nature versus nurture debate has been going on for about 40 years. In a nut shell, this debate deals with personality. One side says that our personality is pretty set when we are born (nature) and the other side says that life experiences as we grow up, shape our personality (nurture).

Now the nurture side of this debate comes from the flawed reseach of Dr. John Money, his theory was the brains of both boys and girls are born the same and the life experiences shape their personalities. Needless to say, the leftist liberal man-hating feminists latched onto this theory like a rabid dog. Now this theory has been proven wrong on so many different levels, the brains of males and females are physically different, for example, the speech center of the male is located on the right side of his brain, but a female has two speech center, one located on each side of her brain.

Now if you want to know what Dr. John Money's reseach was, the title of the books sums it all up; As Nature Made Him: the Boy who was Raised as a Girl, by John Colapinto.

We still have mental institutions. We just don't put people in them simply for disagreeing with you anymore. Now they are reserved for those who actually have mental disorders.

It hardly seems perfect to me if it could be broken by someone having a desire to gain knowledge.

You are bizarre! So what you are saying is that, I as a white male may call myself black, and as long as I think I am black, then I am?? Thats Ludicrous...... (although this may have advantages, I'm married to Ann Coulter, I'm married to Ann Coulter, I'm married to Ann Coulter.....)

I take it that you have never heard of mixed racial marriages>

Children born from mixed racial marriages can have skin as pale as snow, but if these same children get a tan, their skin might look as black as night.

I know of a couple people who have this interesting trait.

Homosexuality is easy. 'Thou shalt not commit adultery.' Transsexuality may have no bearing if sexual activity is not involved

That deals with married people, not homosexuals.

Sentence #2 contradicts sentence #1, if you're attempting to use what was learned in sentence #2 as some kind of demonstration that sentence #1 is faulty. That book demonstrates that physical gender had a greater impact on gender identity than environmental influences. However, when someone is born with an intersex disorder, it may be difficult to make this determination by physical characteristics alone. And even though someone with pseudohermaphroditism may genetically be male, the lack of androgen receptors makes it impossible that this individual could EVER manifest secondary sexual characteristics appropriate to his karyotype.

Interesting statement.

Also, the title of the book stated the doctor's reseach, but after looking back at it, I see I may have made some grammar mistakes.

By the way, I notice that the supporters of sex-change surgery have not bothered to bring up the people who are having their bodies surgically altered to look like animals. I saw a man on TV once who had his face altered to look like a great cat. He had claws where fingernails should be. The TV show treated this as perfectly normal and discussed what his employer had to do to keep him from scaring the customers.

We call this the slippery slope. If a woman can be born in a man's body, why can't a puma or, as I believe one man did, an iguana (no pictures for that one)? Once you get to the bottom of the slope you realize the absurdity of the whole thing. Unfortunately, there often is no way back up.

Shalom.

The show you saw that on is titled, Ripley's believe it or not, on TBS.

OOOOH! I'm breathlessly waiting documentation for THIS claim - documentation not provided by Jerry Springer or the leftist media, of course.

So, you would prefer to believe the leftist media and Jerry Springer. Tell me, have you heard of the new book, Bias?

It may take me a while. But I will try to find the documentation that I read six months ago.

That is not why it was broken. It was broken by a man having a desire to be god. Whenever someone tries to be something they are not it causes severe problems.

Like how that came back to the thread topic?

Shalom.

I don't think so, since I don't have cable. I don't have access to TBS.

I also read an article about "body art." That's where I read about the Iguana-man.

Shalom.

The commandment against adultery means we should only have sex with the people to whom we are married. Since homosexuals cannot be married (theologically) the commandment applies to them. It also applies to all other forms of fornication.

Shalom.
