Every person in the world would be fingerprinted and registered under a universal identification scheme to fight illegal immigration and people smuggling outlined at a United Nations meeting today.

The plan was put forward by Pascal Smet, the head of Belgium's independent asylum review board, at a roundtable meeting with ministers including Australian Immigration Minister Philip Ruddock this afternoon.

Mr Smet said the European Union was already considering a Europe-wide system, using either fingerprints or eye scanning technology, to identify citizens.

But he said the plan could be extended worldwide. "There are no technical problems. It is only a question of will and investment," he said. "If you look to our societies, we are already registered from birth until death. Our governments know who we are and what we are. But one of the basic problems is the numbers of people in the world who are not registered, who do not have a set identity, and when these people move with real or fake passports, you cannot identify them.

"It's a basic rule of management that if you want to manage something, you measure it. It's the same with human beings and migration.

"But instead of measuring it, you have to register them."

Mr Smet said the scheme would give people dignity by giving them an identity if their papers had been lost or destroyed.

And he said it would allow countries to open their borders to genuine travellers or asylum seekers, because they would be able to prove the identity of any over-stayers and deport them without argument from their home country.

Mr Ruddock appeared unconvinced by the merits of the plan.

"In principle we would be supportive of a system which would crack down on multiple asylum claims, but a universal identification system would be taking it too far," he said through a spokeswoman.

You forgot to include anybody who has ever worked for the Federal Government. I got fingerprinted when I went to work for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Alaska 30 years ago.

Fixing? The UN is trying to FIX something? Heaven help us here comes the big ballsup. And how does one "fix" illegal immigration with a fingerprint. If you let people "migrate" across borders it doen't matter how much fingerprinting you do. (Not that preventing illegal immigration is really their goal.)

I remember when my daughter was small (about 12 years ago), there were booths set up in the shopping malls. Little kids were being fingerprinted as part of a record package, in case the little tykes got kidnapped. The parents thought it was necessary, and the kids probably just thought it was fun. I avoided it.

Well, the upside is to this whole NUmber of the beast thing is that it will only last about 3-4 years. Then God comes here and straightens out the whole mess. I'll probably be in my late 30's early 40's, and shouldn't be in much worse shape I'm in right now. Glad I joined the gym.

There are things already set in motion. There are internment camps here in the United Nations. There is one in Marsailles, Illinois, run by the U.N. I have actually seen this camp. It's way out of town, and very secluded. It's large enough to house and hold about 500-1500 people. If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself.

It's all moving much faster now, this agenda for one world, one people. Apparently there aren't enough of us out there to resist this. So many people think just because they live in America they are safe. Well, watch and wait, and be vigilant. Evil comes like a thief in the night. God I hope they get that temple built in Israel. When it's complete, they say God will finally return.

Yeah I'd agree with you.

If it is merely wanting to sow seeds into peoples lives in order for them to come to the truth then I agree.

I think there is an honest situation where you have alot of nonbeliever types and even some believers who whine about the mark.

To me...it is coming and nothing is going to prevent that so while I am here why should I sweat it. Honestly...if I could know what tech company was gonna be behind most of the work...I'd be buying up their stock left and right in order to profit from it. Hahaha.
