Hecklers drowned out a commencement speech when the speaker said the federal investigation of the Sept. 11 attacks might threaten civil liberties. Janis Besler Heaphy, president and publisher of The Sacramento Bee, was speaking Saturday to 17,000 people at California State University-Sacramento. When she raised questions about racial profiling, limits on civil liberties, and the establishment of military tribunals, the audience interrupted by heckling, clapping, and stomping their feet for five minutes. Heaphy stopped speaking but said she plans to continue to voice her concerns about potential civil liberties violations.

Like you the government may not use common sense in understanding that it is not Civil Rights these people are protesting against, but the fact that they should be granted to a group of people that adhere to a religion that is hell bent on our destruction.
And Muslim pleas for understanding, and their denial of adherence to the violent teachings of the Quaran and the attending doctrines falls on our deaf ears. After all, they are suppose to lie to us, they get a blessing from their warped god for lying to an infidel, and that creates a little problem of who the heck is going to risk believing a word they say? The proof is in the pudding, and all we have to do is take a quick look around the globe to see the real story.
This is what the foot stomping was about, everyone wants these people packed up and shipped out, because America has reached the maximum tolerance for diversity and as a whole are sitting in the red on this issue.

It is always gratifying to see the leftist liberals step up and become the voice of these lumpenjaded libertarian superpatriots here on FR.

One would think that when the libertarians see who their bed fellows are, it would give them pause to think that maybe, just maybe, they may have the wrong take on a few issues.....NAH...not a chance.

clueless, liberal, media mogul expects to sell any newspapers These paper people need to realize that dailies are an endangered specis. Literate folks don't need 'em.

I have asked the Chicken Little Society members on several occasions to answer the following question: FDR was granted, and used, FAR more powers that Ashcroft has been given. After FDR was granted these powers, did he declare himself Furher, elimintae all other political parties, ship millions to labor camps in the interior of Alaska, outlaw the free press, confiscate all guns, execute pro-life Christians, and nationlize all industry?....(these guys are involved in a sky-is-falling campaign that only the others in their phone booth are buying).

And a similar question for the liberals and leftists and ideologues: Are the Japanese now the indentured servants or serfs of an Imperial America, a colony of our vast political empire?

Well said.

The "Living Document Conservatives" don't seem to care what the Constitution says. After all, The Constitution Is Not A Suicide Pact, and thus may be ignored when inconvenient.

As someone with
two links to Claire Wolfe on their homepage, I should think that you would be able to grasp the foreboding of implications.
America was founded on, among other things, two principles which apply to the points of your post - that all are created equal (equal treatment under the law), and the presumption of innocence until guilt be proven. If we allow exceptions to these principles today, whatever the impetus, we will have blown down the walls which protect ourselves from tomorrow's tyrant.
Principles...implications...consequences.
How much more do you think klinton would have been able to achieve, had there not been the spectre of 80 million+ gun-owners still haunting his imaginations? How much longer do you really believe this deterrent shall exist?
Do you not find it strange that the 'Patriot Act' (god, how that name galls me) appeared, fully manifested, so quickly after 9/11? Does it not make you uncomfortable that our gov't., despite the rhetoric of either party, continues to bend over backward to help implement the U.N.'s agenda of controlling/eliminating so-called 'small arms' (basically any tool which could be used by the masses to defy subjugation)?

These guys are so much fun, and SO FUNNY....."If your parnoid and don't know, rant your rant."
To: Impeach the Boy
So FUNNY???
This from the guy who ranted for two days on the basis of a satirical headline - who never read one word of the article he was so vehemently villifying?
Now, that's funny. You don't give a hoot in hell for any of the issues, or truth, for that matter...you just want to chunk rocks at the funny-lookin' libertarians. Grow up - before the real world shatters your illusions.

I used to get the neighbor's SacBee to line the bird cage. But even the bird refused to crap on it and demanded something better. Still good for puppy training, good thing puppies grow up.

Yet another example from Le-Roy (libertarian wonder boy)of the you-must-be-stupid-because-you-disagree-with-us tact. (you called Kevin Curry stupid in an earlier post to this thread...now you add me to your hall of fame). BADGE of HONOR to be labeled stupid by a gaggle of honking geese who want to legalize drugs and other brilliant "progessive" ideas. (Do you have a shrine in your home to Harry the Clowne Browne?....Mr. 1.5% of the vote.)

No, he simply created an institutional socialist state, and started us on the path of ruin for the republic.
Not that you would have noticed.

I think you're stupid, because of what you say.

Take your happy butt to Cuba to see what a real police state is. It is just such over the top STUPID assertions that make the Libertarians the stuff of Comedy Central. (those catcalls are for your LITTLE band of self appointed patriots as well).
