I added this bonus question because I think it's quite interesting when, as adult learners, we undertake a serious study of a major topic.

In other matters -- beginning next week I will start using better titles so people know more about the topic of each editorial. (Thanks for that suggestion, shaggy eel and AmishDude!).

Consequently, I wanted to use this editorial to sum up the previous five parts of this editorial, as these five parts lack descriptive titles.

Also, here are some links you may find of interest:

Click here to subscribe to Gov. Jeb Bush's weekly e-newsletter, published by the governor's office, if you want to keep up with Gov. Bush's on-going work as governor.

Click here if you want to visit on Gov. Bush's official campaign site (although I do not work for his official campaign).

Click here if you want to find a teaching position here in Florida.

Thanks!

P.S. -- The correct answers to the quiz are - well, you tell me! (And, BTW, as you can imagine, Gov. Bush received: 100% on this quiz.)

Reminder: if you want to check your answers, click here for a site posting Parts 1-5 of "The Jeb Bush Nobody Knows." (And, thank you, RJayneJ, for providing such site! )

Summer, dear, you never cease to amaze! As usual, well-reasearched, well-documented, artfully presented.

The quiz has encouraged me to review your earlier papers. We need to adopt many of Governor Bush's education initiatives here in the People's Republic of Maryland. It would be good for us homeschoolers and for the public system as well.

I've never been a fan of the "politics of heredity"...you know, where a candidate gets voted in because of his last name (see: Kennedy), and not because of independent qualifications. I voted for Texas Governor Bush because of I thought he was the best candidate, not because of his name. I'm beginning to believe that there could also be a national office in the future for Florida Governor Bush.

At the very least, he would be a good selection for Secretary of Education.

The School Board of Sarasota County, Florida, decided this Wednesday (12-13-2000) to ask voters in March for a special assessment (a levy of about one dollar per one-thousand dollars appraised property value) to raise about $19 million for school funding. After two and one-half years of cuts, totalling about $30 million, the district's back is against the wall. Personnel layoffs will be the next step, should the proposed referendum not pass.
Conservative Sarasota County has the highest percentage of registered Republican (compared to Democratic) voters in the state of Florida, not counting the Dade-Cuban community. Sarasota sits in the middle of the heavily conservative Tampa to Fort Myers "Florida SunCoast," and, it is the home of former State Senator Katherine Harris.
In a separate action Wednesday, the School Board of Sarasota County enacted a moratorium on applications for charter schools in the district.

Bump for Jeb. Last summer we visited him in his office, and he took some pictures with my kids and I and let us sit at his desk. I was truly impressed. He rates #1 with me.
