Of 475 Palestinian villages known to have existed before 1948, 385 have been destroyed, some without so much as a stone to mark their past existence.

Well golly! The Arabs attacked Israel the day she was born and war is what they got. Most of these villages are places the Arab masses fled from as their leaders exhorted them to leave Israel and return with the triumphant Arab armies. Only problem being that Israel won.
Same as the Pallies are whining now that their intifada has turned to drek. And Israel has them under siege instead of the other way around. Pallies tried to drive the Jews out of Gaza and the West Bank and it flopped big time.

MEANWHILE:
What do you have to say about the 800,000 Jews who were driven from the Arab nations. Made into penniless refugees? I can never get an answer from you on this one.

In order to gain popularity, all one has to do is say everyone else is a liar.

I don't know about this technique giving one popularity, but I do know this technique is the favored technique of the Israel First crowd, especially when they are responding to someone critical of Israel's policies, or when they have no substantive response, which is quite often!

One person, believe it was dennisw, said that Norman Finkelstein proving the Joan Peter's book a fraud, was "a lie!" The funny thing about this is Dr. Finkelstein disproved the Peter's book in his doctoral dissertation at Princeton! Imagine, Princeton's doctoral review board being so incompetent as to let such lies to pass!(sarcasm) But as you say, it is convenient to label any opponent a liar.

Good post. Maybe some will be curious enough about the truth to research the destroyed villages like Tantura and the massacre there.

Don't hold your breath! I'm still waiting for the New York Times to admit their reporter, Walter Durranty, lied about and thus was culpable in the death, by starvation, of an estimated 6 to 9 million Ukrainians in the Artificial Famine of 1932/3 in Ukraine!

Of course the owner of the times liked old "Uncle Joe" Stalin, who could do no wrong! Stalin sent his henchman, Lazar Kaganovich to oversee the pogrom, and recently the Ukraine Academy of Science reported the 80% of the Cheka (secret police) were Jewish.

Hell will freeze over before Hollywood does this story, or a reporter makes a documentary of it!

Now someone is going to call me "anti-semitic." I most definitely am not! I grew up during the ecumenical movement of the Catholic church, attending a parochial school. My wife is a Taiwanese computer engineer; in high school my father said he wouldnt't object to my dating my black lab partner, when I asked if he thought it ok, if I decided to date this cute girl. My best adult friend is a Sikh Indian from the Punjab, India. I helped produce a TV show, with a Jewish couple, who were also close friends before a divorce. Hardly the profile of a white supremicist!

The upshot is this: One textbook used in my university English course had a section on techniques of propaganda, one of them being "stacking the deck." As you may recall this is telling a lot of one side of a story and leaving out the other. Seems our media has left out a lot of relevant history from the 20th century! I would like to see the complete history told! No more stacking the deck! Not in Ukraine! Not in Palestine/Israel!

The Jews had been living in the Arab world since 70 AD and many others moved to the Arab world about 1500 when they were driven out of Spain and Portugal.

I would point out that blaming the jews for the genocide in Ukraine is a gross error and something which would only make the modern mongols happy. Truth is, the jews were only instruments of the Russians. It has been this way for 400 years. The Russians are responsible for historic carniage in Ukraine - and oncemore, most every educated Ukrainian knows it.

We can take up a collection and buy a couple of these books for these guys. But then again, this book might be too advanced for them.
