Another letter to the editor of the Naples News concering Ian Harvey

Stop his poison

Editor, Naples Daily News:

Ian Harvey identified himself as "teacher, mass media, Lely High School" at the end of his letter which was full of misleading statements.

A teacher of mass media, he ought to be ashamed of himself.

Mr. Harvey claimed "hundreds, perhaps thousands of innocent civilians have already been killed by U.S. bombing." Even the Taliban did not make such an outrageous claim. America is not bombing Afghanistan because "the hijackers were from there" as he claimed. America is bombing Afghanistan because they are harboring and refusing to turn over Osama bin Laden, who is responsible for killing 6,000 innocent people in New York and Washington.

Mr. Harvey compares Timothy McVeigh to bin Laden and wants to know why we did not bomb Michigan, his home state. The comparison is pitiful and demagogic.

Mr. Harvey suggests that we accept the Taliban offer to turn bin Laden over to a third country where he can be tried and punished. Where do you suggest, Mr. Harvey — Iraq, Iran, Syria or Libya?

Mr. Harvey's letter clearly shows his hatred for America — tucked into his comfortable office in Lely High School, living in La-La-Land, paid by our tax dollars.

Mr. Harvey may be injecting daily doses of his poison into young minds.

The Collier County School Board should fire Mr. Harvey immediately to stop further poisoning of young minds at our expense.

Lely is my alma matter. No member of that faculty has a right to push their politics onto their students. They would all be much more at home in say, North Korea.

Of course he's brainwashed. I was brainwashed in 8th grade by Mr. Caskey, who was a Vietnam Vet and NRA member who kept American Rifleman mags in the classrom (imagine that now!), that we constantly got off track by talking gun control with. I took about 20 years for it to catch up, but his ideas stuck. That is why checking out the teachers is so VITAL!! Kids look up to their teachers and believe them.

I see Lely High has two Alumni Associations so far. The
Class of 86 and the Class of 91. This really needs to be stopped. Any chance of Alumni getting together and forcing this issue? More than a few parents are upset I would imagine. And I bet if people dig around, there is a whole lot of dirt on Mr Ian Harvey which makes him unfit to be around other people's kids.

Hey MFH! Good to see you. It should be pointed out to the local school board that ANSWER is a commie front group - check out the links on their site.

Mr. Harvey is definitely not an unbiased teacher. The parents need to know this. I'm sure a good number of them would then ask for his resignation.

Post the numbers and we can freep the school board!

Did Gannett buy the Naples Daily News, too? It used to be a fairly objective paper. Collier County is not a liberal hotbed. Folks in Naples are probably pretty steamed over this author's pro-"peacenik" stance. Naples is home to more than a few retired high-ranking Veterans....and Chuck Colson. (^:

This galls me. Enough already. Harvey wants to be a radical political hot shot, fine with me. But not on my dime. This is why (summer) so many of us are simply digusted with public education, want the union busted and choice instituted.

I am sitting here at 2 AM with a pile of bills. I am looking right now at my Florida property tax bill. Our state, as you know, is nice about this. We have payment plans and the interest is not much. But still, the money I spend to give Mr Harvey free health care, a great pension and a lot of time off grates on me. Looking at the other bills spread around my computer table, I have greater priorities than funding Iam Harvey. My 81 yr old mom is, of course, under Medicare and I pay for her supplementary insurance, her drugs (don't get a fungus infection on your nails, the pills are $9 each!) and other stuff. You can imagine. I have no truck with Mr. Harvey. If this freak, and other free-loaders really want to change the world and help people, they can send me a check. And don't worry, Mr Harvey every dime you send will go for medicine. I will not use your money to protest America. As you use my money.
