If his sons know, they are probably her sons too. And the chances are that he wanted this in the street. Whether or not there was a plan before, there certainly seems to be one now.

The Daily Planet had a good reputation after Clark Kent became their "ace" reporter. He always seemd to have the inside scoop on the crime beat. Clark's son Arthur was also doing well up until the Gulf War when he left to work for NBC. The Planet maintained some respectability until Jimmy ran it into the ground and Lois Lane went to an insane asylum. By the end, even naked girls on page three couldn't save them.
