Good Lord, Fred.  For someone who writes for
the Internet, how blind can you be to what
cyberspace is bringing us?  Freepers are a
perfect example of  TV-wise, tuned-in-to-the-
world people meeting in a large group.

I think Fred was generalizing. I'm sure he's aware of the small minority of folks who actually take the time to talk and learn from one another.
