How many Japanese cars are there in the Ford line today? All the Chryslers are German cars.
I own a Honda Accord. It's the closest thing to an American car available, and it's among the most reliable and best cars for the value out there. No problems. No regrets.

Most Honda Civics in 1999 were built in the US or Canada, but some were still imported from Japan. They all looked identical, and one could only tell by checking the first character of the VIN (1,2,J). The interiors (at least the cloth seat covers) and some parts were from China. So, an American-made Japanese car contains Chinese parts. [Bridgestone-] Firestone tires -- American or Japanese?
