20,000,000 (20 Million) people attend gun shows every year. 400,000 people attend every weekend! That's a Super Bowl and a World Series every weekend! And, you want to close us down? I wonder why?
The GUN SHOW LOOPHOLE is called the CONSTITUTION! We citizens of these United States have had the RIGHT to sell our own private property without the pre-approval of the United States Government for 225 years. Why now are they trying to take this right away from us?
THE GUN SHOW PROTECTION UNION will consist of Gun Show Promoters, Gun Show Exhibitors, and Gun Show Attendees. This organization is a UNION in all aspects that make-up a Gun Show. For a Gun Show to exist, it takes all three components. One can not be without the other. We are in this together. We just need to march in the same direction.
1. Every gun show promoter in the U.S. to join. 2. Every gun show exhibitor in the U.S. to join. 3. Every gun show attendee in the U.S. to join. 4. Largest gun lobby in the U.S. (20 million members). 5. Stop any further gun laws restricting gun shows. 6. Lobby to get face to face gun transfers at gun shows. 7. Lobby to get Federal Firearms License good anywhere in the US. 8. Purchase gun show insurance at lower cost per show. 9. Obtain liability insurance for gun show exhibitors. 10. Obtain high quality lobbyist. 11. Be able to help with legal counsel for gun shows that are challenged.
1. Every gun show promoter will pay annual dues of $250.00 2. All exhibitors that set up at Gun Show Protection Union member shows are required to join at an annual membership dues rate of $25.00. This membership will be honored at all gun shows. 3. Exhibitors that choose not to join will be charged a higher table rate ($5). 4. Exhibitors will be able to obtain liability insurance while attending Gun Show Protection Union shows at a small additional fee ($250,000 to $1,000,000 of liability). 5. Gun Show Promoters will issue and collect membership dues for the first year. 6. The general public or attendees will be charged $.10, $.25, $.50, $1.00 membership fee at each show until we are on our feet.
This plan will work as long as we all stick together. THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW! WE HAVE NO MORE TIME TO WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO DO OUR JOB. WE MUST PROTECT OUR OWN INTEREST NOW. GEORGE BUSH SAID HE WAS FOR BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ALL GUNS SOLD AT GUN SHOWS. George Bush has never heard of the GUN SHOW PROTECTION UNION - yet!! We are the people who are responsible for George Bush being president. He must be told this fact loud and clear.
I look forward to your comments and ideas, to go forward with this plan. We do not have time for infighting. We must stand tall now and bicker later, or WE will never get anything done and by then we will be out of business!!!
I have taken on this task to defend an American pastime, called Gun Shows. Please give this idea a chance to work. We can not expect other organizations to do our job, such as the NRA. Isn't your livlihood or hobby worth $250, $25, or $1?? SURE IT IS!! WE HAVE JUST BEGUN TO FIGHT!! For further information, (513) 523-3574

I prefer no licenses, Federal or state, at all.
Unions negotiate.
The Second Amendment is non-negotiable.
Here are my Union Cards
Here is my most recent purchase. I haven't even had a chance to fire it yet. Mine is the Stainles Steel slide version though.
I won't clutter up the thread with pictures of the rest of the small collection, but I will tell you that Taurus fits my hand like they made it for my hand. Now if the Trigger didn't feel like I was dragging the tip of a stick through wet sand it would be perfect.
Little sister is holding my .357 revolver for me and then of course there are the usual hunting tools.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the banding together of patriotic Americans in the fight for Second Amendment preservation. This is a good idea. I'm just tired of being sold out by Heston's NRA every time I turn around. It's getting old.
Call me sceptical.

Union doesn't have to be a bad word. Remember, "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect UNION..."
That's a fact! Maybe they're setting one up now. Great suggestions, Glocktalk and AR15 forums. There's many more. Sig Sauer and CZ have discussion forums but I don't remember the URLs right offhand.
Unorganized militia, and you're on :).

Regulations are so bad that he gave up running gun shows in his home state of Ohio.
As it is, he is one of the country's largest gun show promoters with just the shows he runs across the Ohio River in Kentucky.
Now the U.S. Senate, including Ohio Republican Senator Mike DeWine who voted in lockstep with New York Democrat Senator Charles Schumer, has voted on legislation that would put gun shows out of business under the terms of the Lautenberg amendment to the Juvenile Justice Bill.
Dickson is running in the March 7, 2000 Republican primary against DeWine which only leaves five months to go. (12/7/01 - obviously and unfortunately he lost)
