If pre-existing monthlies gave us that big bump up the %scale, then it just goes to show how important they are, and how these Freepathons will be less needed if monthlies can support the site. (Altho, I'd miss these fun-fests!

I'd like to say something to those who can't afford a monthly, or a largish donation of any kind. Everyone understands that. There are inputs of all kinds that make Free Republic the success it is - not just $$. For those who want to make a monetary contribution, but taking a lump sum out of your wallet sometimes is too much ----think about this. About 3 fundraisers ago, I started to save my change at the end of each week. Except for a few quarters, nickles, dimes and pennies, I dumped the rest of the change in a baggie. When this Freepathon started, I had a little over $20! that is a lot of money, but coming from loose change, many would not miss it. Think about it. It is an easy way to make a contribution, yet not make a big sag in the wallet.
