Let me get this straight...we're in a war in the Middle East and the Senate is considering a railroad pensions bill before national energy legislation--and the GOP cannot win the argument that Dashole is putting partisan concerns over national security?! Lott and company are beyond hope.

GOP cannot win the argument that Dashole is putting partisan concerns over national security Oh, they can probably win the arguement all day long. It wouldn't matter a whit. If you don't have 60 votes you don't have 60 votes, and you can win every arguement for 1,000 years and still lose the vote. And unlike squirrely Republicans, the Rats always stick together enough to win the vote -- they will let the country go to hell long, long before they'll let their party lose a vote.

I share your frustration, but when was the last time you ever heard any of the networks report something that clear and sensible to the American people. Ultimately, this White House had better learn to spend its political capital, or it will suffer the same fate as Bush I.
