At this point in time, I am just listing the highlights of subjects that those of you who were there and/or saw this on the news should comment on. I will post more detail later as verified information comes in. Thanks to everyone for your support and especially to those who showed up today. Also, may God Bless Free Republic for helping us communicate this way.
1. Kensington Town Kouncil "Taliban" were nowhere in sight today.
2. Mayor Raufaste spun this event out to the press as a "patriotic tribute" rather than a Christmas tree lighting.
3. Santa was NOT allowed to light the tree. The mayor used a wall of firefighters and rescue personnel to hide that fact.
4. All the major networks and news wires were there.
5. FReeper Santas dominated the event and made it very enjoyable for the children of Kensington. The oohs and ahhs from the kids were plentiful! Much more to be posted, soon...

The only problem is, around the Metro D.C. area that is precisely the underlying agenda of the limousine liberal elite who control most of the local, state and Federal bureaucracy here.

As a Christian, I was taught to "turn the other cheek" even when viciously attacked. I humbly admit that I have sinned by not always doing so. I was initially inclined to not answer the personal attacks and lies from both tgslTakoma and now you, katya. But, now that you continue to soil this thread by making your personal problems public, I will dignify you just this once with a succinct and appropriate response to your recent diatribe against me. It's too bad that you and tgslTakoma have soiled this otherwise joyful and positive thread, celebrating the Spirit of Christmas at our last FReep, by your recent posts.

Well, well, well, "Princess" Katya, have some of us relative newcomers to FR not met YOUR Taliban-like PC standards of fascism, yet? Several of our local heroic firefighters and rescue personnel have recently joined FR since this Santa ban controversy began. Will you soon start chastising them too, for not responding to YOUR personal criticisms and critique of our Santa ban FReep?

Ha, ha, ha, "miLady" Katya, have you appointed yourself "Miss Manners" of FR now? If you wanted to impose your version of etiquette on the townspeople of Kensington then why didn't you just haul your royal "HIGHnieness" down to Sunday's FReep and pass out copies of the Marquis de Queensborough (sp.?) rules of combat to everyone there?

And finally, on the matter of certain D.C. Chapter FReepers' problems with Mr. Bill White, I shall, just this once, dignify both YOUR (Katya) and tgslTakoma's disrespectful requests with the following list of facts:
1. Bill White is a former FReeper who was "banned" from posting here some time ago. Nonetheless, I find it rather suspicious that both tgslTakoma and you (Katya) keep bringing his name up as a means of disrupting an otherwise positive thread here.
2. White is NOT a member of the TRT or the coalition of FReepers who were there last Sunday. He may have popped up at other FReeps, regardless, we FReepers cannot control his behavior nor have the power to "ban" him from places open to the general public. To insinuate otherwise is rather evil of you.
3. White did respect our request to stand away from and clear of our FReepers. Unfortunately, some D.C. Chapter FReepers chose to rather pointlessly engage him in debates that were not related to why the heck our FReepers were in Kensington in the first place. In other words, SOME FReepers there decided to get "off message" at the scene and possibly ruin it for the children of Kensington and us all by involving themselves in disputes between fellow FReepers and non-FReepers at the scene. Katya, you and tgslTakoma both have engaged in similar behavior here, too.
4. NONE of the TRT members or FReepers was involved in any of last Sunday's mini "scuffles". Initial reports indicate that an extremist Jewish group and some "born-again Christian" bikers including convicted felons, had physically assaulted White. As the police investigation continues, more of the facts will eventually come out. Regardless, White's behavior and that of his attackers should never have been a major subject of discussion on this thread in the first place.
5. Bill White has widespread notoriety in the D.C. area. YOUR insistence on us further discussing him on this thread has only served to enhance his controversial reputation. You also open up the D.C. Chapter FReepers and others here to be subpoenaed as possible witnesses.
6. The ADL considers FreeRepublic.com a "hate group" site. The ADL is clearly wrong. However, the fact that their moles were there should not surprise you.
I once again request, this time publicly, that YOU (katya) and tgslTakoma, refrain from further dragging Bill White and other issues onto this thread since that only serves your thinly veiled attempts to publicly degrade the TRT/FReepers stunning accomplishments made at last Sunday's nationally covered FReep in Kensington.
So there you have it, my disclaimer on behalf of the TRT members and FReeper friends there, regarding the actions of Mr. White. Are both you "ladies" happy now?
Regardless, I do sincerely wish you a Merry Christmas and hope that this holiday season cures whatever personal animus ails you both.

3. "No Santa, No Peace" (Doctor Raoul's creation)
4. "Night of a Thousand Santa Elves" (drZ's idea)
Yes, Maryland, there is a Santa Claus. ;-)
WMAL radio talked about it for two days! I think they loved the story and it was all positive. Only one comment implied that due to national exposure, many non-Kensingtonians showed up. You all did great! I especially liked one crowd shot taken from a high vantage point. A sea of red and white!
The FRantas FReeped the Kensington Kouncil while enjoying the FRolicking FRuits of FReedom that day! ;-)
Too bad the Kensington Kouncil HOes didn't show up. But I guess they didn't want to do their "secular tyranny" streetwalking in public that day. ;-)
You're probably right. However, there was also the possibility that the crowd may have angrily lit up their not-so-little pagan tree into one heck of a bonfire. (After all, with the fire department already there, no one would been hurt by that). ;-)
