BIBI BREAKS IT DOWN FOR MSNBC MORON: TRANSCRIPT
MSNBC ^ | Dec. 2, 2001 | MSNBC

Posted on 12/02/2001 10:16:14 AM PST by Cinnamon Girl

(this is the transcript, not exact because I typed it myself)(paranthetical expressions from me.)

Chick: Tell me, what do you think this means in terms of the prospects of success in any kind of talks coming up Monday that are scheduled between President Bush and the current Prime Minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon. Any success there?

Bibi: The problem is not between Israel and America. We’re both on the same side of the fence, we’re democracies fighting terrorism. You’re fighting the Taliban state in Afghanistan that harbors a terrorist organization, we’re fighting the Arafat regime which harbors a dozen terrorist organizations that have now carried out additional suicide attacks on Israeli civilians in the heart of Jerusalem. The problem is not between Israel and the U.S., the problem is w/ the Arafats and Talibans of the world which harbor terrorists. I think we have to adopt a uniform policy and basically say to Arafat what you are saying to the Taliban. Surrender terrorism or surrender power. In the case of the Taliban, they have not surrendered terrorism so you’re throwing them out and you’ll soon catch bin Laden in my judgment. In the case of Arafat, we should say exactly the same thing to him. Either your surrender terrorism or surrender power. Stop this terrorism or you’re out. It needs to come with uniform clarity from North America and Israel. We’ve allowed him to act with impunity…

Chick: And yet, Mr. Prime Minister, we’ve been told that Arafat has said he wants all this to cease and he’s asked all those that are doing these heinous acts to stop in order to give some chance for peace in the region. Do you believe that he’s either paying lip service or do you believe he’s lost control of power?

Bibi: He’s ASKED them? You ASK them to stop? You don’t ASK them to stop. If you had terrorist marauding Canada from U.S. positions would you ask them to stop or would you take action against them. They have offices. They have addresses. They’re roaming around free. And he’s doing nothing. He should use the 50,000 weapons we’ve given him to act against these terrorists as he’s promised to do…

Chick: You gave him weapons to go after these terrorists? (HI, I’M A REPORTER. WHERE’S THE MIDDLE EAST?)

Bibi: (incredulous pause) Well not ME. But the Israeli government that signed the Oslo accords gave him 50,000 Kalichnikov assault rifles.

Chick: What do you believe is being done with those guns right now? Do you believe they are being turned on your own people? (DUH)

Bibi: Well we know that because just the other day Arafat’s own fatach group, he’s the commander of that group, and now officially they’ve carried out a terrorist attack just two days ago… So Arafat is in the amazing situation of being both a harborer of terrorists, a Taliban, and a perpetrator of terrorism, a bin Laden. He’s the only leader in the world that qualifies under both categories. (PLEASE PICK UP YOUR YEAR'S SUPPLY OF RICE-O-RONI ON YOUR WAY OUT.) What should be done with Arafat is what you are doing with the Taliban and bin Laden. You don’t talk to these people, you don’t ask them to be nice. You tell them, unless you stop terrorism, terrorism that your own forces carry and terrorism that you harbor, unless you stop that we’ll take punitive action against you in the most forceful way. At the end of the day, surrender terrorism or surrender power. That’s the only way to deal with terrorism. There is no other way.

He couldn't really be. Just a great thought since I see him as the next best thing to Rumsfeld or Guliani ;)

Bibi is the nickname for former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The photo is of him taken in 1967 I believe. I ordered his book "Fighting Terrorism" How Democracies can defeat the international terrorist network. It's available at Amazon.com.

I believe his brother Yoni was the only casualty on the sucessful Entebbe raid- KIA.

Yep, like the NYT ignoring Hitler's actions in the 30s

Actually, more like the NYT promoting Stalin in the 30s. I was in their building last year... they still proudly claim Walter Duranty's Pulitzer Prize (for reporting that there was no famine in the Ukraine among other things).

The NYT is first about promoting its agenda, socialism. If a few people have to die in nasty ways, if we have to print some lies, if we set back civilisation by hundreds of years -- well, to the Times, the end justifies the means. It's all in pursuit of the millenial Greater Good.

Thanks to CG for posting this, and thanks to Bibi for standing up to these presstitutes. I wish more Americans would, it is unfortunate that we have to rely on a friendly foreigner to show us the way. (Although I believe that Netanyahu technically holds US citizenship, he is first and foremost an Israeli).

Last night I heard a female ignoramous on MSNBC ask the reporter in Israel if the Israeli's aren't jaded about these attacks and just go on about their business. Without a doubt the most callous comment made on MSNBC in recent days.

You mean the live ones, the ones that didn't die in car and truck bombings, by snipers, or just plain suicide bombers? Oh, sure, they're jaded all right.

What a peabrain.

What does KIA mean? And you do know what IIRC means? I see it occasionally but don't know what it stands for.

Netanyahu had an older brother.
In 1973, when Bibi was studying at MIT, his brother Yonatan (Yoni) led an elite anti-terrorist unit in the IDF. (Think Israeli Delta Force.)
They were deployed on many missions, the most famous being the raid on Entebbe Uganda where Red Army Faction (West German commies) and PFLP had landed a hijaked airliner.
The terrorists had killed most of the Jews on the plane and were threatening to shoot all o fthe American and European hostages unless Israel surrended imprisoned terrorists.
Instead, then PM Meir ordered the raid.
The terrorist had chosen the location poorly. The airport had been built by Israelis, and the IDF had trained to take it. The attack was a success. The terrorists were killed or neutralized. I believe that one hostage was killed as was one of the rescuers, Maj. Netanyahu.
Ironically, the man who next led the IDF anti-terrorist unit was Ehud Barak, who with Clinton's help won an election against Netanyahu.

Course Bibi is the greatest.

You have to love a man who used to irritate Clinton so much.

Cinnamon Girl: you transcribed? How admirable!

Between channel flipping last night (NCAA football) I saw a very interesting and fairly substantive interview of Netanyahu on CNN. Here's a link to the transcript, besides reading it you might like posting it. Among other things, he uses a Mexico example rather than Canada.

Here's some excepts from the CNN transcript with Bibi responding to some Arab nut who apparently tried to justify Arafat and his dogs:

KELLEY: But Mr. Rahman just said, when people are hungry, jobless and their land is taken, they're hard to control?

NETANYAHU: Well, that's simply a cop out. That's a way of saying that Arafat doesn't keep his part of the deal. The deal was he got territory. In exchange, he was supposed to police these people, the terrorists, prevent them from attacking us.

In fact, he's done nothing of the kind. And he has more police per square inch than other country in the world, including, I think, North Korea.

KELLEY: So what's the problem? Is it all Arafat then? Are you saying that he is not strong enough to control them?

NETANYAHU: No, I'm saying he doesn't want to.

KELLEY: Mr. Rahman, right before you, said no one can do it alone. Israel must do its share.

NETANYAHU: Well, that's hogwash. He can do it overnight. And the reason he's not doing it is not because he can't do it, but because he won't do it.

KELLEY: But Mr. Rahman said there are Israeli atrocities as well.

NETANYAHU: There are no Israeli atrocities. There are -- Israel takes focused action the terrorists themselves. But sometimes, unfortunately, as happens in your case in Afghanistan, while you target military targets, you can accidentally hit civilians.
