That was so hysterical yesterday on the Freepathon Thread. I laughed. Laz's math is about as good as mine.

I figure we need 8333 people to donate $1 a day, and that gets us up to $75,000 per quarter.

did laz teach public school math?

put down the calculator, and step away from the white zin.

that's $750,000 per quarter.

Then you can look down you nose at all those thousands of freeloaders! feh!

They're officially called FReepLoaders!!!!!

But one does not need to belong to the dollar a day club to avoid that handle - one only needs to support FR in a (financially) comfortable way!!!!!!

I'd love to be a member of the dollar a day club - just can't do it!!!!!!!! there are lots of others folks that way.

GanmpaDave figured if 5000 Freepers gave $5 a month, the bills would be more than covered. If 25,000 gave $1 a month we'd have the same thing.

We know of at least 67 people who are %dollar a dayers. The monthly donor list includes them and a bunch of others. But we're still looking at probably less than 300 folks here.

The registered number here is something like 70,000. If you figure through attrition there are probably about 50,000. Probably half of them are lurkers. But a lot of the lurkers are willing contributors. But bringing it further down - lets' look at 25,000.

If we could get ONE DOLLAR A MONTH - just $12 bucks a year - from them - then add in all the monthlies - that would be the end of these quarterly fundraisers.

We'd still do them - because we all have so much fun - we get to talk to folks we don't normally run into because everyone's interests are different.

OK - that is the end of my daily push for donations - I will now return to my normally scheduled silliness (no offense to silly!)

Oh, BTW - uglybiker - this was not directed at you!!!!!!

Don't tell me I'm correct in that math calculation. LOL!

I went about it thusly: $75,000 multiplied by four (as in quarters). That's $300,000. And then I divided by something, then added something, then did something else to come up with 8333.

Honestly, it's the cough medicine.

Let's try this together: Basic Math Calculator

$75,000 per quarter
Approximately 92 days per quarter

$75,000 ÷ 92 = ?

815.22. I wasn't off by that much. It would be much less if everyone was doing it the way Gabz is doing, though.

Okay. I was off by about 8000, but who's counting? Better stick to my linguistic skills . . .

Sounds like million freeper math. Let me take a stab at it.

$75k x 4 quarters = $300K budget

(8333 freepers) x ($1 per day) x (365 days) = $3,041,545

Now divide by 7 due to post office neglegence and anthrax discard to = $434,506

Now add in the tax factor of 31% and whalla ~$300,000

Is this what you had in mind?
