Return to normalcy before September 11, 2001? Try normalcy before January 20, 1993.
God bless President Bush. And God bless the United States of America.

Good to see the hand salute not taken lightly for a change, there IS a reason for it.

Thank you, Sabertooth. Almost makes me wish I were a Democrat...so I could've voted twice...for Bush!

Thanks for the bump. This respect should be expected particularly of CIC who has had to send our men into action. The contrast with Clinton makes the norm seem exceptional. The American people have been too use to electing people who don't have a firm grasp of the fundamentals. In Bush they have a man who does understand what it means to serve our nation, and to honor those who fearlessly put themselves between the evil doers and our people. I hope we don't forget the importance of having Presidents who value the nation before self, death before dishonor.

I was so impressed by this true act of respect for our military people by our president! He really does get it. Most any other person of his staure would have just continued his journey, disregarding the neglected return salute. Not George W. Bush. He is earning the respect of the military community, not expecting it - as most would.
Excellent! It's the
little things that make the difference. IMHO, this is just
one more example of the dignity and sincerety of George W. Bush. Example after example, I am refreshed to see this change from the prior administration. Thanks to God and the voters for putting dignity back into the White House! Many thanks for the post, and I agree with your opinion 100%, friend!
Thanks for the ping, Sabertooth!

"...earning the respect of the military community..." ======================================
Reminds me of a line that Charlton Heston used, but I forget his exact wording:
'It's nice to hear the words "The President of the United States..." and not dread hearing what follows'.
Bravo President Bush....Bravo !!

A dyed-in-the-wool Alan Keyes supporter who, although I of course worked for and voted for Governor Bush, have held a bit in reserve for him, even I am by the day beginning to understand the depth of Our President's political skill -- and potential greatness!
[And my Dad always told me you will learn a great deal more about a man by watching how he treats those who wield no authority over him -- the "little people" -- than by seeing him with the "big shots"]
Way to go, Mr President!
Per Adua Ad Astra!

Thanks for the heads up.
