CBS NEWS VETERAN CALLED 'TRAITOR'; WRITES BOOK EXPOSING ELITE BIAS **World Exclusive** In the first defection of its kind, a 28-year veteran of CBS NEWS has written a tell-all book which names names and exposes elite media bias and slated coverage of events. The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained the first copy of BIAS, A CBS INSIDER EXPOSES HOW THE MEDIA DISTORT THE NEWS -- an explosive new work by CBS NEWS veteran Bernard Goldberg. The book set for release in January, presents an unprecedented blueprint of media bias as documented by an insider. "Bernie Goldberg is a G-ddamn traitor," a CBS NEWS executive said late Friday. "The book is trash written by a bitter man who is now determined to settle a score." Writing that he's never voted for a Republican for elected office, Goldberg exposes the bias he witnessed first hand during the nearly three decades he spent at the network. Goldberg zeros in on CBS NEWS anchor Dan Rather and current CBS NEWS President Andrew Heyward, who is quoted as saying: "Look Bernie, of course there's a liberal bias in the news. All the networks tilt left." MORE

You are right. My husband just said he would be first in line to check that book out of the library, but I think we'll buy it instead too.

"This is hilarious."It is a stitch, isn't it!

Goldberg was on C-Span with his anti-media talk..I loved every minute of it.He was awesome to watch. Why this is coming out just now is beyond me. He did that interview in August.

Love it!

The trashing of Goldberg has begun. CBS is using the Hillary Clinton formula, isolate, then go for the jugular!
This honest man will be throughly discredited by the media, but hopefully the book will be successful!
He won't get asked on the Today show to promote it, so it will be up to people like us to get the word out!
Thank you Bernie for standing up and telling the world what we have all been saying for years! No one listens to us, but maybe they will to you!

He is not telling us any thing new.

most network news producers and staff have come through the revolving door of democrat hill staff because journalism writers and democratic staff are interchangable parts. And that is true because, whatever journalists may say about their independence of political party, liberal Democratic politicians never controvert the political implications of superficial, negative journalism. In fact, they automatically echo them.

, what REALLY needs to happen, is at least one network completely lose it's FCC monopoly frequency broadcast license . . . there can be a [Class action or dotgov sponsored] lawsuit or six. I can't imagine why it isn't done . . . except that everyone assumes that it would go the way of the suits against the IRS . . .
Why Broadcast Journalism is Unnecessary and Illegitimate.
I'd sure like to see it done--as the above link clearly shows.

From latest Limbaugh Letter- "Stupid Quotes" section:
"Keeping your energy up is not hard in a situation like this, but I did rely on something I call 'zoom juice'.... Frankly, I don't know what's in the damn stuff. It gives you a burst of energy, you can gulp it down quickly, and it's liquid, so you're not chewing when you come back on the air."
- Dan Rather, explaining how a "high-protein smoothie" helped him cope with the pressure of reporting on September 11, quoted in the New York Post
Rush's comment: Next time, try truth serum.
Now that was a good one.

It's a small town one,and since I travel quite a bit on business,I don't get there very much anymore. However, the three times I did it(requested a book that they didn't have in the library, that is),the staff was very pleasant and accomodating. I got the idea that they had a budget for requests, and those requests were filled on a first-come,first-served basis, however, that's just my impression;I never asked.
A point to think about, and investigate, possibly:If filling requests like that(first come-first served)is a common practice for municipal libraries, that it ought to be relatively easy for some dedicated small town FReepers to make sure that there are some conservative authors on the shelves. I'll have to check in detail.

I will check into it here. I am in a small town.

#71 Thanks for the article. Wish I could remember the segment (or whatever) he did awhile back. I was quite taken with him, for the first time believing there are some good journalists, other than the obvious ones. Maybe it will rub off on a couple others now that we have a good president.

#35 I'd like to slap Press so hard, it would make those ill-fitting false teeth rattle. O'Reilly did a good job of putting him in his place, but Press needs a lot more of it. He brings nothing even to a liberal program, nothing.

#54 Thanks for the site names. I'll not buy another thing from Amazon; they listed something at one price, charged $2 more. $2 won't break me, but I don't like being deceived.

#62 That's exactly how I found FR. Drudge has earned his stripes and I'll defend him any day of the week; will keep him as my home page. We owe Matt Drudge lots more than he owes us.

I would assume Drudge does not approve of FreeRepublic.com check his links we are not one of them. Should we be giving him hits? I guess someone has probably noted, by now, that many of us got here via a link at DrudgeReport. I think some of our whackier posters and/or disruptors caused the link to be removed. I'm not a huge Drudge fan, but don't begrudge him any traffic we send his way.
