5,000 Freepers who care are needed now!
Donate to Free Republic ^ | 30 November 2001 | Grampa Dave

We need the stewardship of 5,000 Free Republic members to insure the continuation of the Free Republic Life Form!

Jim Robinson said in yesterday's post: "My projections are that our regular monthly expenses for next year will be running in the neighborhood of $22,000 per month, or approximately $264,000 total for the year. This means we will need to raise approximately $66,000 per quarter."

If 5,000 Free Republic members who believe in paying their own way and that no free lunch ever exists, pledge $5/month. Jim's goals and needs will be quickly surpassed!

5,000 good stewards of Free Republic pledging $5/month will total $75,000 per quarter. That would allow Jim/John a little breathing room!

Many of us donate more per month than that. So please don't reduce your donation. We just need 5,000 regular pledgers to make things easier for Jim.

Are there 5,000 good Stewards out there who can afford $5/month to keep alive the Free Republic Life Form?

One way to afford this is to cancel your subscription to your left wing fish wrap or bird cage liner. Donate half of that monthly cost to your favorite charity and the rest to Free Republic. If you do this, you remove your money from the enemies of America and invest it with the friends of America, Free Republic! That would be a double winner for America!

Become one of the 5,000 Freepers who believe that there is no Free Republic lunch and that only parasites want something for free! Sign up for $5/month on a monthly auto payment plan!

I've heard tell that guys from Arkansas are so bold they call edge when flipping coins at 11,000,000 to 1.

Now, this turkey...is it a tom or a hen and is it a butterball...

....but I digress. The outside of curse. Speaking of Arkansas and butterballs, we returned a turkey to Sam's Club cause it hadn't been scorched and the pin feathers stunk up the kitchen...ol' Sam sent us two new 24 pounders...

Thanks for being one of the 5,000!

Just the comedy of Laz doing math and explaining his culture while doing his math is worth the $5/month for this month!

Well, if you know of any conservative musicians, let me know... looking to create a compilation cd (maybe some multimedia aspects, as well) of conservative musicians, which will give good music, good info, and for a good cause :0)

With the ability to "Show your true colors" to all of Freeperdom, many who would not normally be motivated to take the step to pledge to any amount would do so. For the modest or those whom even $5 is more than can spare, one could elect to not show an asterisk.

I'm not alluding to a "caste system". More like displaying a star in ones window to declare pride that ones family member is in service to his country.

Laz, maybe you could have a special here!

If someone pledges $100 or more month, you will tutor them on your math skills and share your math culture with them!

Thanks as usual for your great wit and sense of humor. Has your moose pledged yet?

How long do you think the demonrats will be around?

Forever, my friend, FOREVER!

If 5000 of us who got a tax refund would use $240 of that to send to FR, FR would have immediately $1,200,000 of funds. Investing that at some good place would return something which could be used in the daily operation of FR. Perhaps it's asking a lot of 5000 of us to donate $240 at one time, but maybe if we can afford $20 a month, we can somehow scrape up the immediate sum.

Think about it!

There have to be 5000 of us out there who can afford to do this. THERE HAVE TO BE!

While writing this, I have Lee Greenwood's "American Patriot" CD playing. Go to the nearest record store, buy it, play it while thinking about donating to FR. I dare you to listen to this CD and not donate more than you think you can.

Badjoe - I'll be upping my monthly ante during this next Freepathon. Am already at the $20 a month but will issue a challenge to everyone. I'm gonna up my monthly to $30. Am on a fixed retirement but Lee Greenwood is now telling me that "I'm proud to be an American..." Are YOU proud of being an American? Up the ante, folks.

I thought we were promoting a classless society. Next thing, you'll want me to put a dot on my forehead so everyone will know what FReeper caste I'm in! Whew!! Now my self esteem is gonna be ruined, because I can't afford to be in the FReepistocracy!!!

I agree. Maybe Jim and John could come up with a 5,000 member symbol. That symbol would let us know that Freeper was a regular giver of at least $5/month!

A lot of us are on fixed incomes, including me, and that is why I came up 5,000 Freepers who care are needed now!. I based that on a monthly contribution of $5/month to enable Jim to meet his minimal goals!

As I stated before, if a poster who I don't know posts a new thread or a reply and is one of the 5,000, I will pay more attention to that brother or sister than a non donor here since day 1!

Thanks for the input! Maybe Jim or John can come up with something simple and non caste system to recognize the 5,000 loyal monthly donors!

Oh - if there are 5000 of you who will donate the immediate sum of $240, let me be the first. Badjoe - I'll up my monthly to $30 and will also be sending you my immediate $240. Will confirm that when the FReepathon gets fully underway. You can put it in the bank when it counts for New York in the tally of the FReepathon.

Who else wants in on this action?

Laz - you're pretty lousy at math. You can donate and not even miss it because you won't even know what you've done. Shake loose with some of those Rochester coins.

And thusly it is, in The Liberal Way.

I resemble that remark.

We now have a nicklelodian in a Brubeck quartet on the edge of insanity...my head hurts.

Great Rouser! Lets start with those who haven't pledge yet and get them going with a $5/month pledge! If they can afford more, they can pledge more!

Thanks your reply on this and for being a regular monthly donor! Proud to be with you!

How's about 15,000 Good FReepers in for $1.00 per day?

That's Four Hundred and Sixty Five Thousand Dollars Per Month;

One Million, Three Hundred and Ninety Five Thousand Dollars Per Quarter

And Five Million, Five Hundred and Eighty Thousand Dollars Per Year -- and not a penny piece of it from the confiscated wealth of another human being.

And now we are a Conservative Political Force to be reckoned with!

For a Buck a day.

You know, I've always had a problem with this. The quill, which is part of the feather, is inserted into the turkey's skin, which might allow you to consume that the feather is originating on the inside and terminating on the outside. You might conclude therefore that the feather is both inside the turket and outside the turkey at the same time. Hence, both the inside and outside of the turkey have an equal number of feathers.

Now, you might say the outside wins due to feathers that have been plucked or fallen out, which obviously are not inside the turkey, altering the balance.

This leads me to ask an important to settle this debate once and for all. Are there quills that have started growing inside the turkey, yet have not yet made it past the skin? Could these be technically considered feathers? If so, are there enough to account for those feathers on the outside only by virtue of the fact that they have fallen out or been plucked? These are all important questions.

Another question that has never been properly settled for me: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop?

Thanks for resolving your mental distress over this issue! That was fast. I thought that I might have to make a house call with an anti depressant as you struggled with your chalk mark!

You will feel good and will not need the Prozac! Besides this is cheaper and more fun! Thanks!
