Africa devastated by Aids
70% of new HIV infections are in Africa
Aids is the biggest threat to Africa's development, according to the United Nations.
The reason is the large numbers of people in key roles who are dying: teachers; farmers; health-workers; civil servants and young professionals.

"How???? only homos and drug addicts get it here in the states" Extreme promiscuity, common polygamy - and the myth that a man with HIV can only rid himself of it by raping a virgin.

Yes, Africa would be a paradise if freed of AIDS.

It's not only HIV skeptics like Duesberg who discount the notion of an AIDS pandemic in Africa.
Rolling Stone magazine just published a big expose debunking the hysteria. I don't think it's available online, but here's a summary I found at
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/columnists/s_2932.html:
Those who yearn to return to a serious pre-Sept. 11 concern can try Rolling Stone. There - of all places - a South African author/ journalist named Rian Milan has written a dangerously politically incorrect piece called "AIDS in Africa: In Search of the Truth." As anyone knows who has read articles by lonely 1990s AIDS dissidents/heretics such as Michael Fumento and Celia Farber of Spin magazine, AIDS in Africa is a controversial issue.
The conventional wisdom, as brought to us by the World Health Organization and the mainstream media we all love and trust for their unvarnished objectivity, is that Africa is in the middle of an AIDS apocalypse: 22 million people supposedly carry the virus, and 14 million already are dead from it.
Dissidents, however, argue that the scale of AIDS infection in Africa (based largely on dubious medical models and statistical projections) is wildly overstated and that it is not AIDS that is killing Africans of every age and sexual persuasion.
It usually is TB, malaria, diarrhea and a dozen other diseases that have killed poor Africans by the millions since time began.
Milan has discovered nothing really new in his unsuccessful one-year search for confirmation of those big AIDS numbers in Africa. But his tale of self-serving medical experts, stupid politics, bad science and wasted billions in Western aid money ought to be a real eye-opener for the Rolling Stone set.

In any event, whether in Africa, Russia, or the rest of the world, AIDS is a self-limiting problem. The people that screw around die, the people they screwed around with die, and the people that can manage to keep their pants on are fine. So what's the problem?

I've heard (but not from an authoratitive source) that the common strain spreading in Africa is more prone to transmission through heterosexual intercourse than the prevailant strain(s) in the US.
And while it is most common amongst homosexual men and IV drug users, more than just "homos" and "drug addicts" get it here in the US. In fact according to CDC statistics more women are infected through heterosexual contact than through IV drug use.

Aids is the biggest threat to Africa's development, according to the United Nations.Socialism is the biggest threat to Africa's "development".
AIDS is second.

Actually, the disease is so rampant in Africa because they eat AIDS-infected monkeys, not because they have sex with them. Then, of course, they have sex with each other (a lot of sex, there's really nothing else to do for entertainment in that part of the world), and it spreads like wildfire.
