Rush Limbaugh's "The Rebirth of American Resolve" (an excerpt)
The Limbaugh Letter ^ | November 2001 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 11/26/2001 10:27:04 PM PST by Mudboy Slim

I've been a long-time subscriber to The Limbaugh Letter and the November 2001 issue had an excellent article called "The Rebirth of American Resolve," of which I will transcribe a short, yet poignant, excerpt...

"Except for travel and mail and whatnot, life in America has pretty much returned to pre-September-11 mode. People are engaging in their daily routines, going to work or school, shopping, participating in all the usual necessary and leisure activities. But bubbling just below the surface, undetected (save for various poll numbers) and misunderstood by the national media, is something enormous. It is quiet, but angry. It is channeled and disciplined, but has the taste and feel of revenge. It is determined and focused, but passionate. There is a word for this new (to us) national character trait: resolve. American resolve is something wonderous to behold. It actually has deep roots in our history, part of the fabric of the nation's almost-lost traditions and past. Many thought we had outgrown it, or had become too sophisticated and jaded and secular and materialistic and blase to ever again express it. To my generation, the Baby Boomers, and to the two generations that followed, Gen X and Gen Y, the mention of "American resolve"--if it was mentioned--brought to mind sepia-toned images of 40s-era war posters or grainy documentary footage of Allied soldiers in Europe. It was a long-forgotten age, the remnants of another nation altogether.

"Then we were attacked."

(The article goes on to explain the resultant unabashed patriotism that is much more Substance than Symbolism, and the Effete Elite's utter disdain for this raw emotional Love of Country, which the HateAmericaFirst Leftists in the Vast, LeftWing Medyuh Whore'd and the DemoncRAT Party LOATHE!!)

Then, the article continued...

"In fact, the elites among us continued to behave as they always had, banning the flag from workplaces, demanding that "God Bless America" be removed from signs. They were stunned at the vociferousness and vehemence of the anger that came back at them. Ordinary Americans, for the first time in my memory, decided to tell the elites to shove it. Without apology or hesitation. I have seen dozens of stories now, where some idiot stood in the way of an American's desire to express his or her love of country. In almost every instance, the idiot has backed down, shaken by the force of will that says, "We put up with your PC nonsense for years. Here's where it stops!!"

So sad.

"indications for CDCH include a poor educational background, especially with respect to History and Science, and a restricted world view. Religious zeal is frequently hypertrophied, and signs of pathological greed are occasionally also seen. "

The left can't help name calling, even when it's attempting CUTE parody. Read: the right wing is not college educated, and is not accepting of the UN world view, and let's not forget they are religious whackos... did I mention they are money grubbing business owners?

Oh, please, these paranoid criticisms are SO nineties.

RE-IMPEACH. CONVICT. DETHRONE. DISBAR. DE-PENSION. DELEGITIMIZE. INDICT. CONVICT. IMPRISON. DISCARD KEY.

I couldn't agree more. I understand that the upcoming Vanity Fair article (January) will place blame on the Clinton Administration for not excising Bin Laden from our midst when they had the chance. I hope they pull no punches and thatit gets wide publicity.

Don't know. Gotta go to CA first to help my mom.

I'll watch for the article. I don't know that VF publishes on line, but Drudge will probably print a synopsis, at least. VF articles are dreadfully long and stuffy usually. Too cute by half! It will be interesting to see what they do with this.

"Right is Winning..."

Always hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Optimism without caution can be delusional.

Lock and Load.

Gosh, my FRiend, you could be my wife talkin' like that...or my shrink...or my Daddy...or my boss's boss...or that dude down at the 7-11 where I always buy my IceHouse beer (from Planktown Breweries, but owned ultimately by Miller, which is a key contributor to the bottom line of Philip Morris Tobackky)...anyway, Mudboy's sorta like Burt Reynold's "Lewis"-character in "Deliverance" and anything but delusional.

Maybe that's why I've never read one...I prefer articles--and folks--that/who are succinct, concise, and to the point.

Mud, you certainly do carry a lot of carnal baggage. The righteous people in your life probably do give you a hard time.

BTW, Please reread post #108, it was not directed to you personally.

Speakin' of "carnal baggage," could you, my Palmetto State FRiend, achieve yer "Prohibitionist" ambitions if Marijuana was decriminalized under Federal Law, thereby allowing South Carolinians to discover their own best way to fight the War on Drugs?!

A free Republic cannot be maintained if the citizens are drunk or stoned; because, who are you going to trust with your rights and your property while you are stoned?

Neither are safe if one is in a stuper. Be vigilant always. For a Free South.

Be sober, be vigilant; or join the French Foreign Legion.
