There's a lot of strange stuff hidden underground- when I worked at the sewage plant ( see my profile ) we had many, many underground installations, including some 3 stories deep. No mean feat in an area by the sea, where the water table averages 5 feet below grade. Naturally I toyed with the idea of using them as fallout shelters if "the balloon went up..."

It always amazes me what can be tunneled underground.

The Chinese want to build a Moon base.
If they make it ahead of us, they'll go underground,
it's provides the best protection from radiation.
