[history]
It was easy enough for George and Laura Bush to talk about it now, 10 weeks distant from the dark catastrophe and confusion of that first day. The war was going well

I'm sorry if this has been posted. It is a little long, but soooooo good. It seems strange that most of the media can now see GWB like we have for a couple of years! I might even go out and buy this issue.

Not bad for Fineman, who referred to those "Mullah's on the Hill" (Republican's) one night on Hardball.....

Maybe it was posted before, but I didn't see it.
Thank you for posting it, it's a wonderful article. Very
surprising for Newsweek. I was preparing myself for
feeling outrage and was pleasantly surprised.
Thanks

Theres a term for it in horse racing. When a thoroughbred is at peak condition, and twitching with eagerness to run, he is on the muscle. That was Bush last week.Yipes, Fineman and Spikey Isikoff writing pieces that didn't send my blood pressure through the roof! Yes, Virginia, there really IS a Santa Claus.

Thanks, it's a fun read. Apparently, we have a president who does not put a phoney front. You get what you see, and hear, a 100 degree change from X42.

"The president, working the phones aboard Air Force One, finally reached her, and they reassured each other that they were OK. As always, her steadiness helped him. She couldnt have been more calm, resolved, almost placid, which was a very reassuring thing, he recalled. Ill be home soon, he said."
Every day, in every way President Bush validates my original impressions about him. I am so proud he is our President amd so grateful that he has the serene, steadfast, loving Laura at his side. She is a Rock.
A surprisingly good article from Fineman and he made it through without mentioning McCain even once. He may at last be rehabilitated. LOL.

Thanks for the tip, Darlin'. Wonderful article. Good eye, as always.
I know the President probably did try his best not to look shocked, but it didn't work. I've seen a couple of pictures of that moment, and I don't think I'll ever forget the look on his face and in his eyes when Andy Card told him the news. I doubt he'll ever forget that moment, either.

Thanks, deport! Fineman is the one who called him "our George, the dragon-slayer in a graying helmet of hair" ...
I bought that Newsweek as well. I will look for this one. If nothing else, should Howard revert to his former tricks I will have written proof that he wrote nice things and I will make sure I remind him daily!! LOL!

You are right, it is oh so good, as the others are on the link you provided.
The warm human touch of the Bush's is so comforting to me, and knowing that he is in charge of our nation's destiny gives me a sense of peace.
He is managing the war like a business deal, getting the best advice, then making the decisions himself after careful consideration.
The more I learn, the more impressed I am with GW Bush, much more so than I was with his Dad, and I liked him too!
