NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! He must be eliminated! What kind of example does that set? A man who hid and protected the "evildoer"? If he walks, what does that say about our commitment to destroy "all those who support and harbor terrorists"? NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hey, guys, keep it down. Mullah Omar is working through "secret channels" to provide information that will not only allow us to get OBL but bring down his entire structure. Omar and OBL are related by marriage, a very strong link among the rag-heads, and a great deal of finese much be employed as the Mullah pulls a Jeffords.

He is one of those cases that will have to be looked at individually," said U.S. Ambassasdor Kenton Keith I'll bet that Keithie boy was an either an appointee of Slick, or a relic from the Ford or Carter administration.
Either way, it's irrevelant, as Omar ain't going free.

Sure Give military tribunals to ones who you have nothing on (all in secret of course), hey they could be innocent (but that's alright) and let the bast#rds go that we have everything on (Or do We)!.....Yaaaaah, makes perfect sense to me.
You just lost a vote for sure now Mr. Bush!..
Heap big smoke but no fire (or maybe it is about Oil)!

We'll have to see if Ambassador Keith is taken to the woodshed for this or not, before we can tell what the administration's intent is.

This is similar to when Gen. Franks said OBL was not a "target" of the war. Screw up? Ya. We'll kill him just the same. Diplomats are usually better about BS'ing questions they are not comfortable with. After stepping down as Defense Secretary, Don Rumsfeld will have a future in training government officials in how to speak PLAINLY.

LOL. Mullah Omar is a free fire zone unto himself. Like the man said, "if he gets in the crosshairs, his ass is ours".

Relax. Just like all the Taliban Afghan's are freed (and some join the NA), Omar is an Afghan. It is in our interest that Afghanistan take care of him, not us. Afghanistan has a number of options: 1) Try him and execute him according to Islamic Law. 2) extradite him to us 3) exile him to another country 4) set him free.
I think #1 will be the overwhelming favorite. They need local political support to make this happen though. I think #2 is very unpalatable to Afghan's. #4 is also not very probable because of the trouble he could create. #3 is probably the second most likely scenario.
This is all assuming they take him alive. I suspect that he won't be.

While insane on the surface, don't discount the possibility that this is one of those selective pieces of DIS-information that W and Rumsfeld mentioned earlier. "Sure, Omar, come on out. We won't hurt you! (Got him in your sights, Corporal? Fire when ready...)"
To: classygreeneyedblonde
"When asked to clarify what he meant by "brought to justice," Keith said, "It depends. It's an Afghan - Afghan situation."
Afghan-Afghan Situation??!!!!
"In the end this battle with the Taliban is an internal Afghan matter. Afghans have to solve it. They are looking at it on a case-by-case basis, we are told "
Afghan internal matter??!!!!

Spectre Gunship---AC-130...Operation Ventilated Turban should cure the problem of what to do with Mullah Omar.

Hay, some prettty good replies here, I think this is prettty much worked out now...
What bothers me is all of those Talibaners "defecting" to the NA...now how do they know if they are serious or are just saying "I bin Fighting (bin Fighting...a distant relative of bin (heavy) Laden) against you for years, but now that you're gonna kill me , can I be on your side?"

We can't show any mercy on them

I saw that interview. The Ambassador started sticking his foot in his mouth, and in an effort to extricate it, made it appear the Omar would go free. There is zero chance that Omar will either not be dead or captured within a few short days.
To: classygreeneyedblonde
I don't want this guy 'brought to justice'. I want this guy DEAD.
What in the blue hell is the state dept thinking???? I can see this now. Omar survives, and 5 years later, the Taliban is back. The next Bin Laden is out there, and it is DejaVu all over again.
For the safety of this country he must be eliminated, because if he isn't, more Americans will be.
To: classygreeneyedblonde
Only if you didn't understand the mark of the beast.
Milosevic is charged with genocide.
McVeigh is executed.
Both are totally innocent.
Omar is their agent. If they let him go free it's just because they still need their services.
To: classygreeneyedblonde
I think they're toying with him like a cat and a mouse!
Then ....
GUUUULLLP!
